We are just a few days away from the M4 World Championship 2022, and we can only expect the best of the best in this tournament. The best teams and players in the world of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will meet in this event starting next January 1 and will run until the 15th.
It has been several weeks since the four groups were confirmed for this M4 World Championship 2022. Now, with only two days before the tournament starts, the teams are preparing as best as possible to become the winners.
M4 World Championship 2022 – Groups
As we know, in the M4 World Championship 2022, we will have the participation of 16 teams which are divided into four groups. So naturally, some teams have the label of favorites, others have complicated options, and some possible surprises, as in every world championship.

Tournament format
The Group Stage will start next January 1, 2023, i.e., next Sunday, and will run until January 4.
While no team will be eliminated in the group stage, a lot is still at stake. The teams will play in a best-of-one round-robin format.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the Upper Bracket. At the same time, each group’s third and fourth-place teams will have to play for their lives in the Lower Bracket.
This means that all teams will have several chances to stay alive in this tournament.
Then we will have the Knockout Stage, which will be played from January 7 to 15. In this stage, the matches will be in a double-elimination format.
The prize pool for this event is $800k.

Favorite teams
There is no doubt that the favorite teams for this M4 World Championship 2022 are RRQ Hoshi, Blacklist International, and ONIC Esports. These three teams are undoubtedly the best in the competitive scene of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
RRQ Hoshi and ONIC Esports are the two best teams in Indonesia and are always sharing first and second place in every tournament they compete in.
On the other hand, Blacklist International is the reigning world champion. Having won the M3 World Championship, the team saw the duo V33Wise take a break, which resulted in a dreadful performance during MPL PH Season 9.
Challenger teams
In the case of the challenger teams, we have Todak, ECHO, and RSG Singapore.
In addition to the three favorite teams, these challengers can blow the table and win the championship title in this M4 World Championship 2022.
While they are not the most favored teams, they have proven to have terrific quality and an ability to beat any opponent they face.
These teams have experienced players who know what it is like to play at the highest competitive level. This can significantly help the future of the teams in this world championship.
Underdogs
Finally, we have four teams with an extremely low probability of winning this tournament, Incendio Supremacy, MDH Esports, Occupy Thrones, and S11 Gaming Argentina.
Even though they are the least favorites, we can’t rule them out completely, as we all know that in MLBB, anything can happen. In addition, we place them as underdogs because they are teams that are not known on the international scene.
These teams can also surprise by demonstrating unpredictable and exciting strategies, as there is not much information about them.
