The mysterious Project V Twitch ban

Last night, the Twitch channel of Project V, the lowest German VALORANT league, was mysteriously banned. Why it is like that? In fact, nobody knows. There is no information about the ban on Twitter or on the Project V homepage. Did anything happen on the last stream, or is it just a bug on Twitch?

It’s definitely not uncommon on Twitch for streamers to ban channels. Sometimes it’s creators who unintentionally (or sometimes intentionally) show too much of their body, which violates Twitch’s TOS, and sometimes a toy gun is enough to get a ban, like the developers of Escape from Tarkov did on their own earlier this year have felt. But why it hit Project V now is a mystery to many.

What is Project V?

Project V is an open VALORANT league for the DACH scene in which everyone can participate. From amateurs who are convinced they can keep up with the rest of Germany, to true professionals who are playing for a place in the VALORANT Challengers DACH.

The league consists of a ladder and various tournaments where you can earn points for the ranking. Team Fragster also plays in Project V. With our new line-up we were able to secure first place in the off-season ladder.

Twitch swings the Ban Hammer

Recently, it keeps hitting well-known streamers and even game developers, as mentioned above. Just recently, Kai Cenat, who was the most watched streamer in the world over and over again last year, was banned because he ate edibles in the stream and was obviously quite high. But this is also the perfect example of a justified ban because it clearly violated Twitch’s Terms of Service. But that makes you wonder what happened in the Project V Stream; nobody really knows that.

What’s next for Project V?

The ban on Project V is a major setback, there’s really no other way to put it. The league has become an important part of the German VALORANT scene and is the perfect link between amateur and pro play. The bitterest thing about the whole story is that the new split starts on February 4th, putting the cast and the broadcast at risk. So, Twitch, if you’re reading this, please please get to the bottom of this and give us back our Project V. We are (hopefully) innocent!
