Leshrac gets resurrected by Dota 2 patch 7.34e

Leshrac used to be one of the worst heroes in Dota 2. Patch 7.34d was not favorable to him, and the meta it created almost completely removed the poney from the game. But now he’s starting to make a comeback.

The changes that enabled his return are related to some of the items that he often buys, such as Eternal Shroud. The hoody now gives you +35% magic resistance, which is a lot. On top of that, you could potentially buy 20% more by purchasing a Cloak.

Or you could buy yourself a Pavise and get a lot of HP and protection against physical damage. That way, you’re protected from both kinds of damage and the only danger left is pure damage.

Of course, most players will not go for a tanky Lesh build and will opt for one that has a greater potential to scale into the late game. If you’re too concerned about not getting killed in the first 20 minutes and the game proves to be a slow one, you’ve wasted a lot of gold that could have been used to accelerate your farming and level progression.

Leshrac’s strengths

Lesh received a very interesting buff in patch 7.34e. His Lightning Storm now slows for 1.2s at level 4 instead of 1s. It may not look like a big difference but you can actually feel it.

Leshrac has a very interesting combination of slows, stuns, and damage, much of which is AoE damage. This makes him perfect against illusion-based heroes like Chaos Knight, Phantom Lancer, and others.

Leshrac excels in the mid portion of the game thanks to his item build and damage output. He’s usually very tanky, highly mobile, and can stand between enemy heroes, damaging many of them simultaneously. Of course, their reaction will be to try to kill him as fast as possible.

But if you’re tanky enough and have a decent team, you will not die. Instead, all of the enemy heroes that were foolish enough to try to kill you will suffer this fate.

In the old days, when Leshrac used to be a terrifying hero to lane against, he would just destroy teams in 15 minutes. Now it’s a bit harder, but still doable.

Lastly, one of Leshrac’s greatest abilities is Diabolic Edict, which melts structures with its pure focused damage.
