The UK’s national esports federation, British Esports, has announced an identity refresh of its diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative, Women in Esports. As well as a new manifesto and key pillars. This refresh comes ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8 this year.

Many talented individuals, such as Bryony-Hope Green and Alice Leaman, represent the Women in Esports association. Women in Esports aims to create a more diverse and inclusive space in esports. Since its inception, the association has been responsible for organizing events to promote and strengthen opportunities for women and disadvantaged groups to participate at all levels of esports.

Women in Esports have undergone a complete identity change ahead of International Women’s Day. At the same time, they have revamped the Manifesto and Essential Pillars, thus demonstrating their commitment to improving representation in esports. The pillars complement the work that British Esports is doing in this field.

Identity Refresh

The updated Manifesto

“We are Women in Esports, and we are proud to lead the charge for change in the industry. We invite all individuals who share our values and our vision to join us in this mission. Together, we can create a more equitable and inclusive future for esports.”

Women in Esports has formed four key pillars along with its manifesto. These serve as a roadmap for the initiative’s ongoing activities and help identify the essential components of the industry that need to be emphasized in terms of representation.

Key Pillars

Educate

We know that addressing diversity and inclusion in esports through explicit education is the best way to improve underrepresentation permanently.

Engaging

By exposing the multiple career pathways and opportunities available across all sectors, we actively engage with people to participate in and thrive in the dynamic and quickly developing esports business.

Empowering

We support favorable conditions that promote free expression and creativity while believing that people should be empowered to take advantage of possibilities for growth and development in esports.

Expertise

As specialists in diversity, equity, and inclusion, we must impart our expertise and knowledge to essential stakeholders in eSports. This way is creating positive change and a more inclusive and diverse environment.

The “Centre Stage” campaign, run by Women for Esports during International Women’s Day, seeks to promote women and underrepresented genders in esports. This campaign carries out through featured content, interviews, and charity broadcasts.
