The LEC Spring Split 2023 Group Stage is already underway, and Astralis and Vitality got off to a great start and won their first victory in Group A. These two teams will face each other next Monday, April 10, to fight for qualification to the playoffs.

Both teams were expected to win their respective matches and fight for a place in the playoffs. However, let’s remember that Team Vitality is one of the favorite teams to take the throne away from G2 Esports. At the same time, Astralis has shown determination and spectacular performance in the two 2023 Splits.

Team Vitality crushes MAD Lions in the first match of the Group Stage

Team Vitality showed they are coming with everything in the first match of the Group Stage of this Spring Split as they put a 2-0 thrashing on MAD Lions, the reigning runners-up of the Winter Split.

Vitality won the opening match of the LEC group stage with ease. The French team performed well in their first best-of-three game (BO3). The high level shown by Luka “Perkz” Perkovi helped the French squad to shine as they humbled the Spanish MAD Lions. Vitality is one BO3 away from the spring semifinals, thanks to the Croatian midlaner, who led Vitality to the group’s top.

On the other hand, Elias “Upset” Lipp and Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser played at an exceptional level and made a big difference in the bottom lane. The Croatian midlaner finished with a perfect record of 13/0/16, a big headache for the MAD Lions.

Astralis and Fnatic gave us a very exciting series

After beating Fnatic, Astralis secured a spot in the LEC Group A qualifier. The Danish side defeated Fnatic 2-1 to enter the qualifier against Vitality. In the end, after starting the series strong and thwarting Fnatic’s comeback on the last map, Astralis prevailed.

After Vitality and MAD Lions opened the LEC group stage with a rather short series, Astralis and Fnatic gave us a complete series. Astralis started with superiority, winning the first match of BO3. However, Fnatic evened the contest with their methods. Moreover, the iconic black & orange team seemed to be looking for everything to win the third game. But, the FireLoL method pulled on some grit to close out the series with a superb Adam “LEADER” Ilyasov.

Astralis woke up after the match was tied 1-1 and showed that had it been necessary; they could have crushed Fnatic with a 2-0 score. With excellent management in rotations that helped them reap beneficial resources, the Danish organization distinguished itself over Fnatic on the third map.
