KRÜ Esports advances to VCT 2023 Americas LCQ Grand Final

The excitement of the VCT 2023 Americas LCQ continues, and we have KRÜ Esports becoming the first team to be tournament finalists. As a result, the South American squad is one win away from sealing their ticket to the next VALORANT Champions 2023.

KRÜ Esports beat Cloud9 to secure their ticket to the Grand Final

There is no doubt that KRÜ’s victory over Cloud9 is a complete surprise considering the performance of both teams throughout the season. However, it is worth noting that the South American VALORANT scene is improving, as both KRÜ and Leviatán have shown in this tournament.

The Upper Bracket final started extremely well for Cloud9, as, in Ascent, they got off on the right foot in the first half on their defensive side to take a partial 8-4 win. However, the best was yet to come, as the North American squad won the first five rounds on their attacking side to take a resounding 13-4 victory.

Then, in the second map, KRÜ Esports woke up and hit back spectacularly. The first half ended with a resounding 12-0 favorable to the South Americans; they were one round away from winning the map. Cloud9 won the first four rounds at the change of sides, but everything was left there since KRÜ won the fifth round to take the victory by 13-4 and equalize the series 1-1.

Finally, KRÜ completed a spectacular reverse sweep in Haven, which they began to reap in the first half after an 8-4 partial victory. Then, switching sides, Cloud9 won the first two rounds to put the score at 6-8. However, KRÜ woke up immediately to win five rounds in a row to take the 13-6 victory.

Leviatán crush Sentinels to stay alive in LCQ Americas

There is no doubt that the big surprise of the day was the defeat of Sentinels at the hands of Leviatán, a South American squad that did not show a high level of play throughout the VCT Americas League. However, as the weeks have passed, it seems that the team has become much more composed, and they managed a crushing 2-0 victory over a great team like Sentinels.

It all started in Fracture, where we could see an extremely balanced first half, which ended with a score of 6-6. However, when the sides changed, Sentinels began to lose, as they could not overcome Leviatán’s defense and lost by 13-8.

Then, in the second map, Split, everything was completely different. Leviatán continued with the inspiration and confidence of the first game to take a partial victory in the first half by 8-4. Then, at the change of sides, the South Americans won the first five rounds to seal their 13-4 landslide victory to send Sentinels home.
