The regular season of the LEC Summer Split 2023 ended, and KOI, SK Gaming, and Team BDS got the last three spots for the next Group Stage, which will be played from July 15, 2023.

On the other hand, Astralis joins Team Vitality as a team eliminated in this regular season, and now they will only have to do the math to see if they still have a chance to qualify for the next Worlds 2023.

Finally, it is worth noting that G2 Esports took first place in the overall leaderboard after their victory over Team Heretics. Meanwhile, Fnatic unexpectedly fell to SK Gaming to finish in second place.

Let’s see what happened on the last day of the LEC Summer Split 2023 Group Stage.

KOI save themselves and get their ticket to BO3

The Spanish squad, KOI, had many problems at the beginning of this Summer Split 2023. However, last weekend’s victories helped them get the coveted ticket to the Group Stage.

KOI was playing for their lives on the last day of the regular season of the LEC Summer Split, as the winner between them and Astralis would get a place in the BO3. However, the Spanish team did not fail and achieved an excellent victory thanks to an impeccable performance by Emil “Larssen” Larsson. As a result, all three Spanish teams (Heretics, KOI, and MAD Lions) are in the next phase of the summer season.

G2 Esports finish in first place in the table

After a very nice battle between G2 Esports and Fnatic for first place in the table, the Samurai managed to maintain their excellent level of play to secure the top spot in this summer regular season. In addition, their 8-1 record perfectly demonstrates that this is the same G2 Esports that delighted us with excellent performances in the Winter Split.

Let’s remember that G2 Esports depended on themselves going into Day 9 of the Summer Split since, with their win against Fnatic; they only had to win against Team Heretics to secure first place. Once again, Rasmus “Caps” Winther took charge of his team to lead them to a comfortable victory over Team Heretics.

Fnatic come very close to taking first place

After two disappointing Splits, the Black&Orange squad came completely renewed to this Summer Split, and they more than proved it. Fnatic finished the regular season with an excellent 7-2 record, losing matches against G2 Esports and, on the ninth matchday, against SK Gaming.

However, this is excellent news for all team fans and the LoL community in EMEA in general, as we all like to see the best fighting at the highest possible level.

On the other hand, we have Team BDS got an excellent win against MAD Lions to secure their place in the next Summer Split Group Stage.

Astralis are eliminated from the Summer Split 2023.

Finally, we have the opposite side of the coin, Astralis, which did not give foot with a ball in this Summer Split and fall eliminated from the season. Although the team arrived with many options to qualify for the Group Stage on day 9 in their match against KOI, they had to dance with the ugliest, as the Spanish team had a perfect performance to take the victory.

Now, the team will have to do a lot of calculations and depend on what happens from now on in this Summer Split to have chances to qualify for the LEC Season Finals 2023. Remember that the slots for the next Worlds 2023, representing the EMEA region, are distributed in this tournament.
