100 Thieves outfoxed team Evil Geniuses in the Group stage of LCK 2022. Felix “Abbedagge” Braun emerged as the hero for 100T with his insane “SpellBook Smite”, which helped the team to finish the 48-minute game with an outstanding victory and a spot in the playoffs.

100 Thieves confirmed their spot in the playoff with their 8th victory in a supercharged-up match against Evil Geniuses, yesterday. 100T tried to dominate and break the opponent’s defenses with slow yet calculative play in the early stage of the game. The top laner tried to pressurize EG and take the early lead of the game but EG fought fiercely with smart counter-attacks that kept the pressure off of EG and slowed down the game of 100T.

Mid laner ‘Abbedagge’ with his SpellBook Smite and Top Laner Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho charged on team EG, which led to a final team fight at Midlane. Despite Danny’s efforts to stop the fierce 100T,  Ssumday and squad claimed the victory in the action pack group stage match of LCK Spring split week 7 along with a guaranteed spot in the playoffs.

With this win, 100T confirms their spot at the playoff and the team can still dethrone Cloud9 and Team Liquid if the next 3 games go in their favor. However, the outcomes are moreover depending on Cloud9 and Team Liquid’s performances in the next matches as well. But a victory over Evil Genius can act as a morale booster for team 100T in the upcoming matches.

The team is currently on a 10- 5 record. If the team continues this form and sweeps their opponents in the next three matches, the team can end their group stage run at a 13-5 record. But for that to happen, the team has to win against the number 2 team in the standing, TSM, and table topper Cloud9 on March 25 and 26 respectively. 100T’s last match is on March 27 against a comparatively easy opponent Dignitas.

On the other hand, team EG is currently in a fight for the number 4 spot with team FlyQuest, Golden Guardians, and Dignitas. EG and FlyQuest will go face to face and battle it out for the fourth spot in their next match. Evil Geniuses is currently in 5th position with a 7-8 record right below team Flyquest, which is in 4th position on the points table with an 8-7 record. However, Four teams competing for a single spot make this “battle for 4th position” more intriguing, it also increases the possibility of tie-breakers in the finals week of the tournaments.

Team EG needs to put more effort to win the game considering they just had a devastating defeat against 100 T and their opponents FlyQuest just went back on track after a 3 match losing streak. Although the match would be crucial for both of the teams, one can have it and the other team has to fight harder in the rest of their matchups.
