December 16th will be etched in the minds of many fans of Spanish content creator and streamer Ibai Llanos’ team, KOI.

Ibai makes the announcements

In the evening, Ibai made a series of essential announcements from his organization.

These involve the League of Legends teams of the LEC and the LVP Superliga, the new signings for the content creator teams (in which several controversies arose), the new team jerseys, and, of course, the expected lineup for the VCT 2023.

The offseason in the VALORANT competitive scene has been underway for several weeks. In the different regions where the new VCT leagues will take place, some pre-season tournaments are already being played where teams are testing their new lineups.

The mission for all teams is to fine-tune all team pieces and make them as solid as possible for the 2023 VCT season.

KOI Esports lineup for VCT 2023

Ibai announced the main line-up of KOI VALORANT that will compete at the highest level in EMEA.

According to Ibai, this team is designed to be present on the international VALORANT scene and fight for the top spots.

However, in the promotional video they released to make the announcement, we only see that they name four players, giving way to one last surprise that will soon come to occupy that fifth spot in the lineup.

Nobody knows who it could be, but for now, we can say that KOI’s lineup for the VCT EMEA 2023 is as follows:

  • José “Koldamenta” Aranguren
  • Bodgan “Sheydos” Naumov
  • Nikita “Trexx” Cherednichenko
  • Berkant “Wolfen” Joshkun
  • André “BARBARR” Möller – Head Coach
  • Alex “Goked” Kie – Strategic Coach

Next, we saw how the official VCT EMEA account welcomed them with some emoticons on their Twitter account.

Sergio Ferra, a journalist and narrator of eLaLiga and LVPes, has shown his support for the team by pointing out:

“There is no sense in the team; you are candidates for everything. Soldiers of José Luis Aranguren @koldamenta.”

Renewed and promising KOI roster

KOI’s new lineup in the VCT EMEA 2023 is a perfect mix between competitive experience and further promises.

First, we have the experienced Spaniard Koldamenta, who arrives accompanied by Trexx after a good year in Guild Esports. In the first semester,  they achieved the qualification for the Copenhagen Masters.

Koldamenta, 29, will be the father of juniors Trexx (18), Wolfen (19), and Sheydos (21).

Sheydos is one of the jewels of this new KOI team at the international level. The young Russian player will try to return in 2023 to have similar results as in 2021.
