KCorp completes back-to-back in the RLCS Winter Cup 2022-23

The RLCS Winter Cup 2022-23 has been completed in all four world regions. There is no doubt that these qualifying events are becoming more and more competitive as we get closer to the Winter Major, played in April 2023.

Now, focusing mainly on the European region, the famous European organization, Karmine Corp, won its second consecutive RLCS tournament last Sunday. This is barely two weeks after the French club won its first one; this great organization seems untouchable on the European continent.

KCorp’s absolute dominance in Europe

Karmine Corp continues to display its full potential in the RLCS EU, adding another victory to its incredible track record.

Despite starting with a completely unexpected loss in the Group Stage against the Spanish G1. KCorp crushed all their opponents in the playoffs, including a 4-0 win over Oxygen Esports in the semifinals and a 4-2 win over Team Liquid in the Grand Final.

There is no doubt that this team has spectacular players, varied gameplay, and fantastic collective play. In other words, everything a club would like to have in its team. Amine “Itachi” Benayachi was the main architect of this great run for KCorp in the Winter Cup.

Wagner “Eversax” Benjamin, Coach of the team, said:

“The fact that we are all at the same boot camp together and are close friends is the key to that. And since we always joke around, it’s incredibly good for the mentality. So, in my opinion, if anyone of us feels under pressure, it simply disappears since everyone is having fun, cracking jokes, and chilling.”

KCorp wins despite some pain

While this team is the best on the European continent, it does not mean they are completely invincible, but they win when they have to win. The group stage was challenging, but they finished top of the group with a 3-3 draw.

They faced German Amigos in the first playoff match, winning 4:2. Then, they got the above victories over Oxygen Esports and Team Liquid to take the champions trophy.

Karmine Corp qualified for the Winter Major in San Diego

KCorp becomes the first qualifier for the next Winter Major to be played in San Diego in early April 2023. There is no doubt that the European club will try to make a better impression than they did in Rotterdam last December.

Five slots are allocated for the European region. We will see teams competing for the remaining four spots at the Winter Invitational.

Team Vitality is one of the teams that could join KCorp in the Winter Major. The other French team, a finalist two weeks ago, was defeated in the Winter Cup’s quarterfinals. However, they are one of the strong contenders for one of the four remaining spots in the Major.

The two French trios will have to perform a gigantic performance and hope for a combination of favorable circumstances to cross the Atlantic.
