Little by little, the different regional League of Legends leagues worldwide are ending, and the LPL is no exception. Nevertheless, after defeating EDward Gaming in the Upper Bracket final with a crushing 3-0, JD Gaming managed to secure its ticket for the MSI 2023.

JD Gaming now joins Cloud9, Gen.G, T1, G2 Esports, Gonden Guardinans, PSG Talon, LOUD, paiN Gaming, Sengoku Gaming, DetonatioN FocusMe, Six Karma, and Rainbow7 as the qualifiers for the first international League of Legends event of 2023.

As the leagues end, the list of teams participating in the MSI 2023 to be played from May 2 in London grows.

JD Gaming seals its ticket to MSI 2023

While it is true that there are very few slots left for the MSI 2023, the LPL had not yet confirmed its first representative until this weekend, that just ended. JD Gaming secured its ticket to MSI 2023 for the first time in its history after advancing to the LPL Spring Split grand final.

There is no doubt that this qualification is more than deserved for JD Gaming, as they have shined since the beginning of the LPL Spring 2023. But, first, the group stage was perfect for them, as they finished in first place on the table with a 13-3 record. Thanks to this, the team started the playoffs from the Upper Bracket semifinals, where they faced Bilibili Gaming.

After a spectacular series that went to five games, JD Gaming took a 3-2 victory over Bilibili Gaming to advance to the Upper Bracket finals. Finally, they faced another team that had shown a great level throughout the spring season, beating them in the group stage by 0-2, EDward Gaming. However, this time it was different, as JD Gaming had a spectacular match and crushed EDward Gaming 3-0 to qualify for the final and to the MSI.

This will be the first time JD Gaming participates in an MSI. However, it is worth noting that in the Spring Split 2020, the team managed to qualify for the event. But it was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Third LPL title for JD Gaming

In addition to playing the MSI for the first time, JD Gaming manages to lift the champions trophy in an LPL season for the third time in its history. Moreover, it also becomes the third opportunity for the team to participate in an international competition. They played both Worlds 2020 and 2021.

A few minutes ago (when writing this article), Bilibili Gaming sealed its ticket to the LPL Spring Season Finals and will be the second Chinese representative for MSI 2023.
