With the start of the new year, multiple esports circuits are already getting ready to kick off their events or to conclude some that were left pending at the end of 2022.
That’s why we bring you a list of the most important esports events taking place in January 2023 that you definitely don’t want to miss!
League of Legends
The League of Legends competitive calendar starts as soon as next week with the Season 2023 Kickoff event, however, not much information has been revealed about the tournament so far.
Meanwhile, the LVP Superliga Spring 2023 already has a launch date — January 16, as well as the new match schedule and some of the teams that will participate in the league. After the departure of G2 Arctic from the competition, some promotions and relegations of teams are expected.
Furthermore, the Brazilian League of Legends circuit CBLOL starts on January 21 along with the revamped LEC, while the LCS starts on January 26.
The most renowned Asian League competitions — LCK and LPL — have not yet confirmed their schedules, but are expected to start in the third week of this month.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
In CS:GO, January is not particularly attractive, as there is only one competition to enjoy.
The ESL Pro League Conference, the prelude to one of the important leagues in the competitive CS:GO scene, premieres its new format divided into regions on January 16 and will serve as an appetizer for IEM Katowice 2023.

VALORANT
Riot Games’ tactical shooter VALORANT has an exciting season ahead and this January, we will be able to get an idea of what’s to come this year.
Although the international activity starts in March, the VALORANT Challengers Spain: Rising, the Spanish national competition where ten of the best Spanish teams will measure their strengths on stage, opens its doors on January 8.

FIFA
January will be an eventful month for EA Sports’ soccer simulator. The first qualifiers for the FIFA 23 Global Series in the individual category will take place on January 7 and 8.
Moreover, the final stage of the EA Sports Cup, which was introduced as part of the FIFA Global Series last year, will also be held this month. The event will see 20 teams fighting to take home a share of the $250,000 prize pool and a ticket to the FIFA Club World Cup 2023.
All spectators will enjoy the matches on January 21 in London, United Kingdom.

The Spanish scene will also be in action with the eLaLiga season opener. The competition will kick off on January 29 with the “Super Cup” before the start of the regular season.
