IZaYaKI suffers collapsed lung at Overwatch League 2023

Boston Uprising’s Overwatch League player Kim “IZaYaKI” Min-Chul suffered a collapsed lung on May 1, 2023, and is currently hospitalized and receiving care at a local hospital. According to the organization, the player has progressively recovered from the health problem and is in good spirits.

OWL team Boston Uprising announced on its Twitter account that its player, IZaYaKI, suffered a collapsed lung on May 1. In addition, the team gave the good news that the player is recovering in the best possible way, and he is very encouraged to return to action.

“Yesterday, Iziyaki suffered a collapsed lung. He received immediate care at a local hospital & is now under the supervision of a specialist.”

This incident with IZaYaKI came after the team won its second match at the start of the 2023 Overwatch League season, specifically in the Spring Phase. The player remains hospitalized in a local hospital receiving ongoing care and, while recovering 100%, will be out of the team’s lineup.

Now, the question on every fan’s mind is who will take over IZaYaKI’s position in the team. To all this, Lee “Twilight” Joo-seok and Lee “LeeJaeGon” Jae-gon will likely have to switch roles to Support during the OWL week 2 games.

The team will face the Vancouver Titans and Washington Justice in games three and four of the season opener.
