One of Rocket League’s most eye-catching game modes, Speed Demon, is back. However, this mode will only be available for a limited time, so read on to learn how to play it.

Rocket League promised the community a soccer game with rocket-powered cars. This makes us confident that it will be a high-paced game with unmatched speed and power. But, as if Rocket League wasn’t already like a rocket, Psyonix has launched a mode with much faster cars and a ball, Speed Demon. This mode, true to its name, brings horror and adrenaline to the pitch with a chaotic version of gameplay.

What is Speed Demon?

Speed Demon is a limited-time mode that was first released in 2021, a week after the launch of Season 4. It is a variant of Boomer Ball, another limited-time mode with a few tweaks.

This game mode brings a faster pace of play to Rocket League’s traditional 3v3 mode. The game’s objective is the same: to get the highest score in a five-minute game. What is truly different is the ball, as it is much larger than the original. It is also much lighter and moves with incredible speed.

In addition, the boost has twice the power and an unlimited supply. The game is fast and furious, with knockdowns occurring on contact with a one-second respawn time.

When will Speed Demon return to Rocket League?

Speed Demon will return as a limited-time mode starting yesterday, February 1, 2023, for Neon Nights ft. Cochise. The mode will only last until February 7.

Rocket League celebrates Neon Nights 2023 ft. Cochise with a spectacular collaboration with platinum recording artist Cochise.

How to play Rocket League Speed Demon?

Here’s everything you need to know about the Speed Demon limited game mode.

The game mode is almost the same as the classic 3v3, except that it will be faster where. You will have to react quickly without pause.

The Speed Demon ball is more significant and lighter, so the feel will be slightly different as you adapt to the new settings. You’ll need less power to crash into it and a more accurate shot to tackle the big ball, especially since it also moves faster with less bounce.

There are unlimited drives with twice the power. This means there will be no field rotation to pick up the boost, so the standard strategy of going back and forth is not applicable here. With unlimited power, everything will be based on the speed with more aerial play.

Demolitions happen on contact, meaning the arena will be a minefield. Fortunately, the respawn time is reduced to one second, so you can quickly return to the action.
