How to get a combat shotgun in Fortnite episode 4, season 1

Chapter 1 of Fortnite season 9 marked the debut of the combat shotgun. This particular shotgun was designed to be a mid-range weapon. Most opponents cannot escape unscathed with a respectable rate of fire and small spread.

However, this shotgun has spent more time in the vault than in the treasure trove. Fortunately, Chapter 4 of Season 1 has returned it to the loot. So we can say it’s not the most accessible weapon to get in the game, but it’s not impossible, either.

Combat Shotgun in Chapter 4 of Season 1

In Chapter 4 of Fortnite Season 1, the combat shotgun has been added to the loot. This item cannot be found by searching in chests or on the ground. Currently, there are only two ways to acquire the shotgun in a match; these are the ways to get it:

Tactical Armory Reality Augment

Given their importance, it is not surprising that the creators have added some Augmentations in Chapter 4, Season 1. These augmentations give players access to weaponry, one of which is the Tactical Armory.

Players will receive a Combat Shotgun and a Tactical AR after being chosen. Both weapons are superior to other options in their class, despite being “Rare” in comparison.

However, while this way of getting the Combat Shotgun is the easiest, getting the Tactical Armory Augmentation is more complicated. It is one of the hardest to find in the game.

Defeat an opponent and take the weapon or have a teammate

Players can always defeat an opponent who has chosen the Tactical Armory Augmentation and snatch the Combat Shotgun from him if he has not yet discovered it. However, since this augmentation is one of the less common ones, it should be noted that it is impossible to determine which opponent has it activated.

Engaging them in combat is the only way to determine if they are carrying a Combat Shotgun. Additionally, players can quickly distinguish this shotgun from the rest of the loot because it is a mid-range option.

The best option is to ask a teammate for help if they see the Tactical Armor Augmentation during a game. Then, the combat shotgun can be left for someone else to pick up.

Is using the combat shotgun worth it?

One of the best weapons in Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1 is the Combat Shotgun. However, it is not the best choice for beginners, considering it works considerably differently than the Thunder and Maven automatic shotguns.

Due to its narrow dispersion and small reticle, it is best used at medium range and is ineffective in close combat. Although it is still a powerful shotgun, beginners would probably miss shots.

Therefore, for medium-range combat in open spaces, it is recommended to reserve the Combat Shotgun for expert players. It is not suggested to use this weapon indoors, as opponents will be able to dodge the concentrated dispersion of the pellets and return fire quickly.
