The anticipation among players for Gekko and his skill set is high. The most recent agent to join the VALORANT roster is Gekko. Gekko is an initiator who has the power to summon various animals, each with its unique abilities. In addition, Gekko can blind his opponents, unveil, stun, or disable them, depending on his technique.

One of the strengths of Gekko’s skill set is his Wingman or Q skill, which may be used to scout out foes or places and disable the spike. Although the Wingman moves in only one direction, the ability works differently when combined with the abilities of other agents.

If you want to know how Gekko’s Wingman interacts with the abilities of other agents, you’re in the right place.

How does Gekko’s Wingman interact with other agents’ skills?

VALORTAN’s independent analyst, Tombizz, has studied how Gekko’s Wingman interacts with the skills of other agents.

Before discussing it, it is essential to know how Gekko’s Wingman skill works.

(Q) Wingman

FIRE: He is sent forward to search for adversaries. Wingman launches a blast against the first discovered enemy in case he finds one. The shot is in the form of a triangle.

ALT FIRE: When aiming at a place to plant the spike, or ALT FIRE at an already planted spike for the Wingman to detonate it. Gekko must have the spike in his possession to plant it.

When Wingman expires, it can be picked up and used once more after a brief cooldown.

Let’s talk about how Wingman interacts against other agents’ abilities.

Wingman vs. Sage Wall

With the help of his barrier orb, Sage can build a wall that strengthens over time. As a result, he can prevent attackers from entering the area and play an essential role in giving his friends access to various game positions. For example, when a Sage wall blocks a Wingman’s path to a place to plant or disable a spike, the Wingman will break through the wall to enter the zone.

Wingman vs. Cypher Trapwire

The Cypher Trapwire is a stealthy tripwire that can be destroyed. Enemies crossing the tripwire will be bound, revealed, and stunned for a short period if they do not destroy the device in time. The tripwire generates a line between the position set and the opposite wall. The Wingman is briefly pushed back as it passes through a tripwire but can continue forward to break it without being stunned.

Wingman vs. Killjoy turret and Alarm bot

When an opponent is identified, the Killjoy turret fires at him in a 180-degree cone of damage and activates immediately. However, the turret does not fire at the Wingman or respond to the enemy entering the planting site when an enemy Gekko sends his Wingman to plant the spike. Even the Alarmbot does not activate when the Wingman passes near it.

Wingman vs. Killjoy Lockdown

Killjoy’s ultimate attack, Lockdown, slows to a crawl all captured opponents in its range. Wingman, utterly immune to Lockdown, can enter a location while Lockdown is ending, and the little pet is not restrained while trapped in the ultimate spell. When it comes to standing up at the decisive moment, this can prove essential.

Wingman vs. Astra Gravity Well

All individuals trapped within the gravity well become susceptible and are drawn into the center before it explodes. In addition, it seems to work with Wingman. Wingman is drawn toward the center as he moves through the gravity well, but the vulnerability is not transferred to the animal. However, players can use this opportunity to hit Wingman before planting the spike.

Wingman vs. Fade Seize

The operation of Fade’s Seize is quite similar to that of Gravity Well. The ability deafens and decomposes nearby enemies while keeping them immobile. However, the Wingman is entirely unaffected by this ability of Fade and walks around on his side with no problems.

Thanks to his whimsical skill kit, one of the most entertaining agents VALORANT has ever published is Gekko. Although the kit now seems quite effective, players can easily counter Gekko with the right moves and decisions. Also, after Riot Games gets to know the meta better and has evaluated how the kit works, they will always try to balance the agent after its release.
