The actions of one of the most awaited League of Legends leagues by the fans, the LEC, is back. Undoubtedly, the new LEC 2023 Winter Split was a fantastic opening day, which had incredible games.

The return of the best League of Legends in Europe was crowned with surprising results and some that were historic. Conversely, Vitality stopped Fnatic’s aspirations, while KOI and Team Heretics won their first season matches.

KOI and Team Heretics win their debuts

The Spanish organizations made their debut in the LEC 2023 Winter Split spectacularly, as both triumphed in their first match. On the other hand, we also have to mention that MAD Lions started their season with a positive result for their new project. At the same time, Team Vitality presents its latest project with Asian carriers with a victory secured by them.

KOI beats BDS

KOI, fully dressed for this first appearance, took a big step at the beginning of the LEC. The team of Ibai Llanos gave a lesson of a champion, of that there is no doubt. KOI defeated Team BDS in their debut with a stellar performance by Markos “Comp” Stamkopoulos and an excellent debut by Mathias “Szygenda” Jensen with the team.

On the other hand, the co-streaming premiere for the first time in LEC history was also a complete success. The KOI vs. BDS match was streamed from Ibai’s Twitch channel, and from there, both the team owner and all the fans could enjoy the victory of the Spanish team.

There is no doubt that the team showed that they still have the high level of that Rogue European champion and Worlds quarterfinalist. Unfortunately, BDS could not do much to prevent KOI from winning, as the series was in the hands of the Spanish team from start to finish.

Team Heretics crushes Astralis

After a great showing by KOI in their first game, Team Heretics followed in their footsteps and got their first LEC to win in their debut. However, there is no doubt that Heretics suffered a bit more against an Astralis that was unexpectedly aggressive.

Heretics started their LEC journey with a crushing victory with Lee “Ruby” Sol-min as the MVP of the match.

With this, Team Heretics demonstrates what they are made of. While the team struggled against an aggressive Astralis at the start of the match from Doğukan “113” Balcı and Lee “JeongHoon” Jeong-hoon, they could withstand the various pushes.

Those who shined the most on Team Heretics’ side were Ruby with Cassiopeia and Shunsuke “Evi” Murase with K’Sante. Like KOI, Heretics fans could watch the team’s debut via co-streaming on the team’s official account. In addition, they did so with figures from the club and from the history of the Spanish League of Legends, such as Jorge “Werlyb” Casanovas, Victor “Flakked” Lirola, and Alvar “Araneae” Martín.

Team Heretics joins the group of teams that achieved a victory in their debut in the LEC and, in addition, left excellent sensations. At the same time, Astralis falls defeated but fights with an amazing and surprising game.
