The VCT Pacific League is coming to the end of the sixth week, and we are very close to knowing which teams will qualify for the tournament playoffs. However, before that, we saw how DRX and Global Esports got victories last Sunday.

DRX continues proving they are the best team in the region after winning all six matches. As a result, the team must win one of the three remaining matches to secure its qualification to the playoffs and could even secure first place in the standings.

Global Esports, on the other hand, added their second victory of the tournament and still have three more opportunities to climb the standings and secure their ticket to the next phase of the VCT Pacific League.

DRX apply a reverse sweep to beat RRQ

The DRX boys were surprised by RRQ in the first game of the series, as nobody thought that one of the worst-performing teams in the season could beat a map to the mighty DRX. However, in VALORANT, anything can happen, and DRX had to apply a reverse sweep to stay undefeated in the tournament.

The series was played in Haven (DRX), Split (RRQ), and Pearl (decider).

Haven

Surprisingly the DRX map pick was a nightmare for the team. RRQ started extremely strong from David “xffero” Monangin, who finished with 170 ADR, 261 ACS, and a 1.37 Rating to lead his team to a comfortable 13-8 victory. DRX was at one point in the match ahead 8-6. However, RRQ struck back with seven consecutive rounds to take the win.

Split

RRQ continued to show excellent play on the second map, Split and even got a 6-6 tie on the scoreboard at the end of the first half. However, this time the boys could not cope with the fury of Byung-Chul “BuZz” Yu (203 ADR, 345 ACS, and 1.50 Rating) and ended up losing with a score of 13-10.

Pearl

With the series 1-1, DRX hit the table on the deciding map, Pearl, to take a resounding 13-2 victory. RRQ started the first half by winning the pistol round, which surprised DRX, who lost the first round for the second consecutive map on their defensive side. However, this only awakened the inner beast in the Korean team, and they allowed RRQ to win only one more round in the entire map and took the sixth victory of the VCT Pacific League.

Global Esports crush Gen.G to stay on track for playoff qualification

GES scored an emphatic 2-0 victory over Gen.G to claim their second tournament win and remain in the running for VCT Pacific League playoff qualification.

Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar delivered both blows to the Gen.G boys, finishing with 205 ADR, 315 ACS, and a 1.44 Rating.

The series was played at Pearl (GES) and Lotus (Gen.G).

Pearl

It all started with Gen.G showing a spectacular offensive capacity in Pearl, the GES map pick, which led them to partially win the first half with a score of 7-5. However, on the attacking side, Global Esports gave a small sample of all their potential and managed to win eight of the nine rounds to take the victory by 13-8.

Lotus

Finally, the teams gave us a very intense second map where GES managed to win the first half by 7-5. In addition, SkRossi gave a lesson on using Jett in this match, as he finished with 224 ADR, 331 ACS, and a 1.58 Rating. In the second half, the GES boys won the remaining rounds to take the victory by 13-8.
