Every day we can see how small steps are taken that allow us to get closer to gender equality in esports. An example of this is the new tournament announced by Galaxy Racer and EA; we are talking about the HER Galaxy Apex Legends Open.

Galaxy Racer, one of the most important esports organizations, is partnering with Electronic Arts (EA), the game developer, to hold an event where only people who identify themselves as women can compete and show all their skills in Apex Legends.

All the details of the HER Galaxy Apex Legends Open

This Galaxy Racer and EA, organized by Galaxy Racer and EA, will be divided into three sections, each part of the HER Galaxy event series. In addition, the two companies have partnered to create more opportunities in the world of Apex Legends esports for all women.

HER Galaxy Apex Legends Open Prize Pool

This event series will feature the largest prize pool ever distributed in tournaments designed for women-only competition. The prize pool is $100k.

When will the HER Galaxy Apex Legends Open take place?

The competition series runs for two months; it starts on April 28 and culminates on June 25. The HER Galaxy, Apex Legends Open, is open to all female-identified athletes in North America.

The tournament will be broadcasted on the Galaxy Racer Twitch Channel, where the first two tournament streams of the HER Galaxy tournament series garnered 400K total live views with peak concurrent viewership between the two at 8.6K

The partnership between Galaxy Racer and EA

The collaboration between these two companies is not the first time. In the past, Galaxy Racer and EA have worked together with the same goal as this partnership, which is always based on being able to promote diversity in the competitive esports scene.

According to information revealed in a press release, the game developer contributed $40k to be distributed at the HER Galaxy Charity Creator Cup, which took place last March.

The senior director of Apex Legends Esports, John Nelson, has expressed his opinion on the partnership between these two companies. Nelson comments that the partnership will make promoting diversity and inclusion in the competitive gaming scene possible.

On the other hand, Nelson adds that the entire EA team is very happy and proud to be part of this tournament and support HER Galaxy.

About HER Galaxy

The HER Galaxy program started last year. It was created to give women in North America access to fairer competitive esports scenes. However, that’s not all HER Galaxy is working on; they also want to train women interested in the esports industry.
