At this point in the season, many teams are searching for the ideal players to build a solid roster that will allow them to fight in their respective leagues in 2024.

Cloud9, one of these organizations that is renewing itself ahead of the 2024 LCS, seems to have decided to keep Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami as the fifth player. This would mark the end of C9’s moves after making different changes to the starting roster in recent weeks.

Reports claim Cloud9 retains Fudge as the fifth player

According to a report by LCS_Eevee for Sheep Esports, Cloud9 would retain Fudge as a starting toplaner for the 2024 LCS.

Reports in recent weeks place Cloud9 putting together an extremely solid lineup for the upcoming season, which includes big names such as Joseph Joon “jojopyun” Pyun and Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme. Also, remember that C9 was the best team in the LCS in the 2023 season, so these reinforcements could put them at the top of the region again.

Let’s remember that Cloud9 won both the Spring and Summer Split of the LCS, besides playing in the MSI 2023 and Worlds 2023.

On the other hand, many rumors also pointed out that Cloud9 was close to signing Martin “Wunder” Nordahl from Fnatic. However, in the last hours, Wunder was linked to Team Heretics to form a spectacular trio in the Spanish squad. Recall that Wunder was relegated to the Fnatic bench mid-season, when the organization decided to promote Oscar “Oscarinin” Muñoz from the academy.

Good decision to keep Fudge?

Cloud9’s decision to keep Fudge as the fifth player may be somewhat frustrating for the team’s fans, as they would be playing with only one import next season, Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol. However, this may also be advantageous for the organization if they decide, down the road, to look for a player outside of the NA to bolster the team.

On the other hand, Fudge staying the C9 should not surprise many, as the player is under contract with the organization until 2025, and, most likely, this will be fulfilled in full.

So, this decision may or may not be to the liking of the team’s fans, but we will all have to wait and see how the new C9 lineup performs next season.

Remember that the offseason of the LoL competitive scene will start after the end of Worlds 2023. However, many teams are making changes, closing deals, and talking to their players to get ahead of anything and start preparing right now.
