Epic Games has announced the upcoming release of a new music-based game mode called Fortnite Festival as part of The Big Bang event for Fortnite. The game is set to debut on December 9, 2023, and will allow players to play in a band with friends or perform solo on stage with hit music by their favorite artists. The game is being developed by Harmonix, the creators of the popular music game franchise Rock Band.

While the specific game mechanics have not been revealed yet, the first featured artist for the game’s first season has been announced to be The Weeknd. A thumbnail image of the Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter in his animated form has been posted on the newly-created Fortnite Festival Twitter account, which could be a new skin coming to the game as well.

Fortnite Festival

According to known Fortnite leaker HYPEX, the upcoming rhythm mode known as “Festival” will have casual and competitive game modes. Players will be able to play vocals, guitar, drums, or bass either solo or as a team with free rewards. A list of music superstars and bands was also leaked, including Lady Gaga, Linkin Park, Toto, Imagine Dragons, and Alice Cooper.

Aside from Fortnite Festival, two other upcoming game modes were revealed in The Big Bang live stream. These are the Lego Fortnite and Rocket Racing game modes, which will be revealed more thoroughly in The Game Awards 2023 on December 7 at 7pm CT.

Music icons translated into Fortnite skins are nothing new, with superstars like Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, and Travis Scott having collaborations with Epic Games. However, this will be the first time that a music game mode will be released in Fortnite, making the expectations bigger, especially since Harmonix will be on top of the game’s development.

Overall, the announcement of Fortnite Festival has generated excitement among the game’s fans, and many are eagerly anticipating its release and the chance to experience a new way of playing Fortnite.

Rocket Racing Modus

Fortnite has announced the upcoming release of a new racing game mode called Rocket Racing, developed by Psyonix, the creators of Rocket League. The game was officially unveiled during The Big Bang event in Fortnite on December 2 and is set to launch on December 8. However, no details were given about Rocket Racing except for its launch date. More information about the game will be revealed during an upcoming livestream for The Game Awards on December 7.

Although Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, has not confirmed any rumored details about Rocket Racing, leaks have emerged online. According to a tweet from known Fortnite leaker Shiina on November 26, Rocket Racing will have cosmetics for cars, a global leaderboard, the possibility of having AI drivers, the inclusion of driver reactions, and map voting. These details have not been confirmed by Epic Games and should be taken with a grain of salt.
