As happened in the last months, Evil Geniuses’ plans have failed again. After having everything on track to plot their move to Europe with a spectacular roster, the organization confirmed one of the last rumors we commented on in a previous article.

We are talking about the North American organization confirming that their main CS:GO lineup will be four players from EG Black, their secondary roster, playing around Timothy “autimatic” Ta.

There is no doubt that this turn of events may have been unexpected, as rumors of his move to Europe were very strong. In addition, very important names were heard on the scene, which tells us that all is not well within the organization.

Evil Geniuses confirm CS:GO lineup

Through an official announcement on their Twitter account, Evil Geniuses confirmed their CS:GO lineup heading into BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023, which will be played starting July 13, 2023.

As we note, EG’s CS:GO lineup revolves around autimatic, while the four incoming players from EG Black are as follows:

  • Colby “Walco” Walsh
  • Jeorge “Jeorge” Endicott
  • Paytyn “junior” Johnson
  • Jadan “HexT” Postma

In the last few days, there was a lot of information regarding the signings that Evil Geniuses would be cooking up for the second half of 2023 and the transition to CS2. Names of the quality of Denis “electroNic” Sharipov and Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy from NaVi. In addition to the experienced Frenchman Audric “JACKZ” Jug and Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko. However, the negotiations “fell through” on June 22. As a result, EG decides to promote its players from its secondary CS:GO roster.

BLAST hastens EG’s plans

While there is still time left in this summer player break, BLAST Premier has a regulation in which teams must register their lineup by a deadline. This deadline has expired, so teams planning changes should have rushed to register the lineups. However, teams can still make changes and sign players, but this will have a penalty in the next BLAST tournament.

Now, speaking specifically about the four players who are now part of EG’s main lineup, we have a junior with the most experience in the top tier of CS:GO. Junior played for FURIA Esports and Complexity Gaming from 2021 to 2022 and was on a five-month loan with Bad News Bears. Hetz, meanwhile, also has experience in Tier 1 tournaments, as he was in EG’s main lineup for nine months.

Undoubtedly, this team may surprise many in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups. However, the fact that they have to face top-tier teams and some of the best in the world may lead one to believe that a disappointing result is the most likely outcome. In the last few months, this popular organization was disappointed in its Counter-Strike division, and they need a 180° turnaround if they don’t want to have a terrible transition to CS2.
