EFG acquired Vindex, a global esports technology and infrastructure company. The parent company, which owns FACEIT, ESL, and DreamHack – three of the most recognized names in the video game entertainment industry – completed the transaction.

EFG will position itself to unite and convene more players, fans, and creators around esports and video games with this acquisition. In turn, it can also expand its experiences to other regions.

EFG and Vindex will collaborate to accelerate innovation for publishers, brands, and gaming communities worldwide by combining their complementary skills, knowledge, and technology stacks.

About the acquisition of Vindex

Esports Engine and Vindex Intelligence Platform, two Vindex businesses, will join EFG and continue to offer their existing world-class solutions and services to their partners and customers while gaining access to additional resources from the larger ESL FACEIT group.

By bringing together the capabilities of both companies, they are building a video game ecosystem that brings together gamers, fans, teams, and creators.

To promote contemporary engagement of the digital generation, they have strengthened the geographic footprint of event and studio production capabilities in the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Japan. They also seek to develop and grow DreamHack festivals in the United States.

In addition, they will focus on deepening their broadcasting expertise to create better content and experiences for gamers worldwide.

Details on the acquisition

The transaction was completed on February 17, 2023. Financial terms have not been disclosed. ESL FACEIT Group and Savvy Games’ financial advisors for the deal were Goldman Sachs. On the other hand, the financial advisor to Vindex LLC was Morgan Stanley & Co.
