After being one of the pleasant surprises in the LCS Spring Split 2023, FlyQuest are eliminated from the Summer Split and no longer in the running for a spot in the Worlds 2023.

This is a disappointing result for the organization, which performed well throughout the season. However, the results in this Summer Split 2023 were terrible; consequently, they will now have to watch the rest of the season from the comfort of their homes.

FlyQuest eliminated from the Summer Split 2023 and has no chance of qualifying for Worlds 2023

Although FlyQuest seems to have woken up in the last week of the regular season, since they accumulated two consecutive victories against TSM and Immortals, the team was eliminated from the fight to advance to the playoffs. In addition, it is worth noting that the team still has one game left to play, but 100T’s victory against NRG ensures them to be above FlyQuest after beating them in a couple of opportunities in this Split.

There is no doubt that FlyQuest was one of the teams that were set to lift the LCS champions trophy. After the team put together a spectacular roster with several of the best players in NA, many in the competitive scene gave them as clear favorites in 2023. FlyQuest’s lineup features veterans like Mingyi “Spica” Lu and Jeong “Impact” Eon-young; while they also have promising talents like Lee “VicLa” Dae-Kwang and Lee “Prince” Chae-hwan, so everything seemed to indicate that their success was assured.

Spectacular Spring Split for FlyQuest

During the Spring Split, especially the first half, this lineup was the best in the entire LCS, hands down. The team won every game they played until week four. However, in the second half of the season, the team’s performance dropped so much that they fell just short of qualifying for MSI 2023.

The team seemed to break down completely after FlyQuest’s loss to Golden Guardians in the Spring Split playoffs. It was an unexpected result for them and the whole community.

However, after this disappointing defeat, the organization signed Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme, an experienced Support to improve the team’s performance. Similarly, the team started Summer Split 2023 at a terrible pace. As a result, we all noticed that this move did not work.

Everything indicates that FlyQuest’s problems go through communication and lack of synergy in the games. As a result, the team broke down completely in this Summer Split. They must consider a renewal to come back stronger for next season.

FlyQuest is expected to make an almost complete overhaul to its lineup heading into the 2024 LCS season. However, we will be attentive to all the official information the organization publishes.
