FaZe Clan crowned champion of Halo World Championship 2023

The 2023 HCS season has officially ended after the Grand Final between FaZe Clan and OpTic Gaming of the Halo World Championship 2023.

After a spectacular series, FaZe Clan was crowned tournament champions by defeating OpTic Gaming with scores of 4-2 and 4-0. This is nothing more than a demonstration that we are at a very high point in the Halo competitive scene, considering that both OpTic and FaZe beat Spacestation, the favorites to win this tournament.

Thanks to this victory and lifting the champion’s trophy, FaZe Clan takes home the juicy prize of $400,000 and 200,000 points.

FaZe Clan’s road in the Halo World Championship 2023

While it is true that Spacestation started as favorites to take the victory in this tournament, FaZe Clan also had many things going for them, as they are one of the most consistent teams throughout the season. However, no one imagined that FaZe’s career would be full of success from start to finish.

In the Group Stage, or Pool Play as it was called in HWC 2023, FaZe Clan led Pool D with a perfect 3-0 record, beating LVT, NaVi, and Quadrant. As a result, FaZe advanced as a seed to the playoffs or Champions Bracket.

In their first Champions Bracket match, FaZe Clan posted a solid 3-0 win over Shopify Rebellion to advance to the semifinals of the Upper Bracket. However, at this point, the FaZe boys could not defeat OpTic Gaming and lost 2-3 to start their do-or-die race in the Lower Bracket.

Then, in the Lower Bracket, FaZe Clan achieved 3 resounding victories with a score of 3-0 against the likes of Native Gaming Red, Sentinels, and finally, Spacestation. As a result, FaZe qualified for the tournament’s Grand Final and would play the rematch against OpTic Gaming.

In the Grand Final match, there is no doubt that OpTic started as favorites, as they arrived completely undefeated. Moreover, the team won the first two maps, Recharge (2-1) and Solitude (48-46).

However, this only made the FaZe Clan boys wake up, as they gradually began to come back in the series and, with a spectacular reverse sweep, managed to take the win in the first series 4-2.

Then, things stayed the same in the Second series, as FaZe dominated OpTic Gaming at will in all the games. FaZe beat OpTic Gaming in Solitude (250-22), Aquarius (50-49), Live Fire (200-72) and finally in Recharge (3-1). Thanks to these four consecutive victories, FaZe Clan was crowned Halo World Championship 2023 champion.
