This weekend the emotions of the LEC Spring Split return, and the eight teams that qualified for this stage will start their way in the Group Stage. Unfortunately, of these teams, only four will have options to fight for the champion’s trophy and the qualification to the MSI in the playoffs.

In the Group Phase, the good part begins, as the teams have no margin for error and will have to give their all in every game to achieve victories.

Will any team be capable of taking the throne away from G2 Esports? Will Team DBS be able to continue with its excellent level in this Split and advance to the Playoffs?

All these questions are very close to being answered. However, first, let’s look at all the details of the LEC Spring Split 2023 Group Stage.

LEC Spring Split Group Stage – Details

There is no doubt that this LEC Spring Split 2023 Group Stage will be very intense as each day will have really exciting matches with much more than just a victory at stake. Teams like Fnatic, Team BDS, and Astralis want to give a surprise in this phase, while G2 and Team Vitality are emerging as the favorites.

The Group Stage will start next Saturday, April 8, with the Group A matches; on Sunday, the Group B matches will be played. However, this Group Stage will last until April 16, when the last teams to qualify for the playoffs will be announced.

Below, we will show you the distribution of the teams in each group.

Group A

  • Astralis
  • Fnatic
  • MAD Lions
  • Team Vitality

Group B

  • Astralis vs. Fnatic – 20:00 CEST

April 9

  • Team BDS vs. SK Gaming – 18:00 CEST
  • G2 Esports vs. KOI – 20:00 CEST

However, these will not be the only clashes we will see in this Group Stage, as the rest of them will be determined by the winners and losers of the first day.

LEC Spring Split Group Stage format

As in the Winter Split, the Spring Group Stage will be played in GSL format, with all matches being best-of-three (BO3). The two teams finishing on top of their respective groups will advance to the playoffs.

The teams that top their respective groups will meet directly in the Upper Bracket Final. On the other hand, the runners-up in each group start from the Lower Bracket Semifinals.

This Spring Split 2023 has reached its most important moment, as this tournament will determine the LEC’s second qualifier for the next Mid-Season Invitational 2023.

As mentioned, G2 Esports has already secured its ticket thanks to its victory in the Winter Split. As a result, the second and final EMEA team that will be present at the MSI will be determined according to this tournament’s standings. However, if G2 manages to lift the trophy for the second consecutive Split, the qualifier will be determined by the points they have accumulated in the championship so far.

In either case, each team must perform to the best of their ability to win the championship trophy and secure their place in the MSI.
