The four Regional Major Rankings events will be held in three countries from October 4-9, where the top 52 CS:GO teams will compete for a spot at the IEM Rio Major 2022.

The dates and locations for the forthcoming Regional Major Ranking tournaments have been released by ESL. The Mediterranean island-state of Malta will host the European RMR, while Sweden and Australia will host the respective tournament for the Americas and Asia.

Unlike the PGL Antwerp Major RMRs, the European RMR, Americas RMR, and Asian RMR will all be held concurrently from October 4 to October 9. The qualified teams will participate in IEM Rio Major 2022, which is set to run from October 31 to November 13 at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

European RMR

On the basis of their performance at the PGL Antwerp Major 2022, 12 teams have received direct invites for the European RMR; the remaining 20 slots will be filled through the four regional open qualifiers taking place between August 15-28. The qualified teams will be divided into two separate tournaments, each granting eight spots to the Major. However, there will be a slight twist. The top four teams in the first RMR will receive a spot at the IEM Rio’s Legends stage, but the second RMR only offers three berths for the Legends.

Europe RMR A

  • 1st to 4th – Legends Stage
  • 5th and 6th – Challengers Stage
  • 7th and 8th – Contenders Stage

Europe RMR B

  • 1st to 3rd – Legends Stage
  • 4th to 7th – Challengers Stage
  • 8th Contenders Stage

Americas RMR

From October 4 to October 9, the Americas Regional Major will be held in Stockholm and will allow six American squads to qualify for the Major, with the top-placed team taking the eighth spot at the Legends stage. A total of seven CS:GO teams will qualify through the three open South America qualifiers—three from the first qualifier and two each from the second and third. Based on their success at the PGL Antwerp Major 2022, three teams—FURIA, Imperial Esports, and Team Liquid—have received a direct invite to the event. The remaining six CS:GO teams will qualify through the three North America open qualifiers.

  • 1st – Legends Stage
  • 2nd and 3rd – Challengers Stage
  • 4th to 6th – Contenders Stage

APAC RMR

  • 1st and 2nd – Contenders Stage

A total of four teams from China, Oceania, the Middle East, and Asia will qualify for the APAC RMR through their respective open qualifiers. The qualified teams will then participate in a double-elimination closed qualifier at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from October 7–9 for the two Major spots.
