After several weeks of action, Monte won the CCT WEU Series 3 for the second time in a row, and they beat Apeks again in the Grand Final with a 2-0 score.

Undoubtedly, the Monte boys are taking all the tournaments extremely seriously, as they are using them to prepare for their participation in the BLAST.tv Paris Major. On the other hand, they also continue proving that they are one of the best-performing teams in WEU.

Monte crush Apeks for the second time in a row

Monte Esports once again defeated Apeks in the Grand Final in a rematch of the CCT WEU Series 2. However, this time, Sergiy “DemQQ” Demchenko and Mohammad “BOROS” Malhas led their team to victory and denied, for the second time in a row, a title to Apeks.

The CCT WEU Series 3 Grand Final match between Monte and Apeks was played on Mirage (Monte) and Anubis (Apeks).

Mirage

It all started at Mirage, Monte’s map pick, where we observed a sensational balance with both teams trying to make as few mistakes as possible. In the end, thanks to a great performance by DemQQ, Monte got a tight partial win in the first half on the T side with a score of 8-7.

At the change of sides, it was more of the same, as both teams were playing strategically, trying to concentrate on each round. Monte won the first three rounds on the CT side, but Apeks reacted immediately to make the score 11-10. Then, the teams split wins into the next four rounds so that, finally, Monte could win the last three to take the map victory by 16-12.

Finally, DemQQ was the map MVP and finished with 94.2 ADR and a 1.57 Rating.

Anubis

We moved to Anubis, the Apeks map pick, where we again had a lot of emotions from start to finish.

As in the first map, Monte came out very strong in the first half and took a partial victory by 9-6. However, the team had an impressive collective performance this time, as everyone left their souls in each round.

Monte started strong again at the change of sides, winning the first three rounds on the T side. However, this time, Apeks woke up in a big way and managed to win five rounds in a row to make the score 12-11. Justinas “jL” Lekavicius and Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski were on fire and were fending off every Monte offensive.

In the end, the Ukrainian side overcame the solid defense by Apeks to take the 16-13 victory and claim the tournament championship.

With this, a new edition of the Champion of Champions Tour in the WEU region ends, and Monte is proclaimed champion of the tournament for the second consecutive time.

From Fragster, we congratulate the Ukrainian team and wish them and Apeks every success in the next BLAST.tv Paris Major.
