Monte, TheMongolz, Apeks and Virtus.pro have made it to the ESL Challenger Atlanta Playoffs. Complexity and GL have both been eliminated.

The playoff bracket in Atlanta has been decided, after TheMongolz and Monte won matches over Complexity and BESTIA.

Four teams move on to playoffs

TheMongolz had a good start into the event with a win over Complexity, but also had to take a disappointing loss in a rather one-sided game with Apeks. Their second go at Complexity was again successful, with the Mongolian roster dominating Johnny “JT” Theodosiou and the rest of the lineup on Inferno with 13-3 before ending Complexitys win streak on Overpass with 13-8.

Complexity is now going home in disappointment, it is always sad when you lose on home turf, especially because fans and analysts have been expecting that Complexity would win with ease. But TheMongolz were much stronger and especially more concentrated, something that Complexity was definitely missing during the match.

Complexity was not the only team from NA to pack its bags and go back home. M80 also didn’t do well and lost against BESTIA, even though it was a close affair.

They lost 11-13 on Inferno and also 11-13 on Anubis, and had to use coach Rory “dephh” Jackson as a replacement for IGL Marcus “maNkz” Kjeldsen.

Today Monte will play against Apeks in the semi-finals and hope to win another trophy – they just won ESL Jönköping and still feel confident. TheMongolz will have to play a very challenging match against Virtus.pro next.

The matches will take place today, the first match will be Virtus.pro vs. TheMongolz, followed by Apeks vs. Monte.

Apeks and Virtus.pro have also been securing spots in the single-elimination playoffs. GamerLegion had a very bad time on the other hand and was the first team that got eliminated.

In Group A we saw the match of TheMongolz vs. Complexity with a 16-14 victory. This result propelled TheMongolz to face Apeks for a playoff spot, ultimately leading Apeks to secure their spot in the playoffs after a win against TheMongolz.

GamerLegion has to go home

The elimination match between CoL and GamerLegion was a tough one. CoL started the Match with a 13-2 victory on Vertigo, before GamerLegion controlled Nuke and was able to force a decider. In the end though, Complexity managed an easy 13-2 victory and send GL home.

The upcoming matches on the second day of the competition include an elimination game between BESTIA and M80, followed by two decider matches.
