The Dota 2 roster mania started immediately after the end of The International 2022 and today, Thunder Awaken and Talon Esports are at the forefront.

While Thunder Awaken said goodbye to its entire Dota 2 roster, Talon Esports parted ways with their two oldest players and bought out the core of Invictus Gaming.

Will the remaining of Thunder Awaken roster find new home with EG?

The rumors have turned out to be true, as Thunder Awaken announced it is releasing its entire Dota 2 roster. After Herrera “DarkMago” Gonzalo and Rafael “Sacred” Yonatan confirmed they would be leaving the team for beastcoast, only three players remained on the DPC roster.

Although without players at the moment, Thunder Awaken has no plans to leave the Dota 2 scene for now. The organization is reportedly already working on putting together a new line-up for the 2023 DPC season from a growing pool of talented players in the South American region.

Talon Esports welcomes Oli and Jabz

Talon Esports’ newest addition is former Invictus Gaming player Chan “Oli” Chon Kien along with Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong from Fnatic.

Oli joined IG alongside Zhou “Emo” Yi after the TI8 and over the course of a few years established the team as a staple in China and helped lead the team to fourth place at the TI10. Last year, however, they struggled to stay relevant in the region — the team fell back to Division II in the DPC regional league and missed out on the TI11 by any stretch.

With this move, Talon is banking on Oli’s experience from recent years in a much more competitive region. Along with Jabz, the duo seems to be set to lead the rest of Talon’s young roster.
