Dreamhack Magic Showdown will feature the first-ever regional championship of the new Magic- The Gathering in Atlanta, USA. The three-day-long event will be a big opportunity to earn a World Championship and Pro Tour invite.

The event will kick off on Friday, November 18 and it will be the last chance qualifier for the Championship followed by nine swiss rounds on the next day. The event will conclude on November 20 with a single-elimination top eight. Although the championship structure is yet to be announced, regional championships generally comply with the same common structure.

At the regional level, there are three cycles, each of which leads to an invitation to the next Pro Tour. The top 48 players in the championship will be invited to the first Pro Tour of the 2022-23 season which is planned to be hosted in early 2023. In the subsequent years, only the top 32 finishers will be invited to the Pro Tour because of the modified seeding in the first year. The champion and runner-up of the Regional Championship will receive direct invites to the MTG World Championship with a prize pool of $1,000,000.

In addition to the main Regional Championship, the tournament will include a number of side events for both casual and competitive players. Every day, a $10,000 tournament will be open to the general public, with the formats to be announced prior to the Regional Championship.

The upcoming Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate, which will mark the return of Commander Draft, will be featured throughout this three-day event at Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, Dallas. The event will begin on June 3 with numerous tournaments, each with a prize pool of $10,000.

The event will also feature the world finals of the ESL Impact league Season One, an all-female CS: GO circuit with a prize pool of $150,000. Six of the eight teams in the global championships will qualify through the league, with two places each for teams from Europe, North America, and South America. The remaining two slots will be for wildcards, who will qualify through open qualifiers in South Africa and Oceania expected to be held from April 23 to 24.
