Dota 2 patch 7.34b best support heroes

Dota 2 patch 7.34 turned a lot of dead support heroes into some of the most spammed and overpowered picks of the new meta.

Among them, Witch Doctor, Warlock, and Jakiro have earned a reputation for being absolutely terrifying in the laning phase as well as in team fights. Their ability to both siege and defend a base is phenomenal.

Witch Doctor

Between the launch of Dota 2 patch 7.34 and the 7.34b update, Witch Doctor was completely broken. This hero received such incredible buffs that it started to get picked in nearly a quarter of all games, with a win rate of 57%. Even after the release of the update, which nerfed him significantly, he is still overpowered.

The reason why he’s so strong at the moment has to do with his ultimate, which deals pure damage, and his Paralyzing Cask, which is very hard to avoid. In patch 7.34b, the ultimate’s range got nerfed by 100 while the cooldown was increased by 40s at level 1. However, the ability is still highly potent at level 3 and can be used every 60s.

Playing against WD is difficult at the moment if you don’t have a reliable stun or silence. And even with these tools, he can still surprise you by hiding in the trees.

Warlock

Warlock is not only tanky and powerful when defending. He’s also really strong in the first 10 minutes. Almost none of his attribute points are wasted. The hero doesn’t need agility and fortunately, only 1 agility point is gained per level. The rest goes into strength and intelligence.

Using a combination of Fatal Bonds, Shadow Word, and Upheaval, Warlock can get behind enemy lines, cast these spells in quick succession, and then allow his carry to get the job done. If the mid hero comes for a gank, two kills are guaranteed, especially if the targets don’t have the ability to blink.

Warlock’s current win rate is above 54%.

Jakiro

Jakiro is picked in more than 16% of all games and it’s easy to understand why. His Aghs upgraded Macropyre is phenomenal and will completely destroy an enemy team during fights.

In addition to the ultimate buffs, Jakiro is great at pushing lanes and destroying towers. He also has a long-range stun that will keep at least one target trapped for 2s. This is very valuable when trying to chain-stun a hero or prevent it from teleporting out of a fight.
