Disguised continues its terrible run in the VCL 2023 NA Split 2 and, with its most recent loss to M80, are eliminated from the tournament.
No doubt, some new team ventures don’t always go everyone’s way. Disguised, despite having Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker and Joshua “steel” Nissan in their lineup, have not had a cohesion within the servers that would lead them to victory.
The team still doesn’t know what a victory is in this Split 2 of the VCL 2023 NA, and their terrible loss against M80 eliminates them from the tournament for the second consecutive Split. In addition, this also raises alarm bells that their place in the Challengers division is at risk.

M80 crush Disguised and eliminate them from VCL 2023 NA Split 2

For many in the community, M80 is one of the best teams in the Challengers scene in the North American VALORANT. First, the team came from winning Split 1 very convincingly, and then, they won the Mid-Season Face Off by beating G2 Esports 3-1 in the grand final.

However, the guys from Disguised were convinced they could beat this team, but the opposite happened.

M80 managed to crush Disguised 2-0 in this match to put the checkmate on a disappointing performance for yay, steel, and his teammates in the Challengers division of the VCT.

This match between M80 and Disguised was played at Haven (M80) and Lotus (Disguised).

Haven

The massacre by M80 started at Haven, their map pick, where Mouhamed “johnqt” Ouarid (196 ADR, 296 ACS, and 1.58 Rating) managed to put an end to Disguised’s aspirations.

The first half started extremely balanced, which made many think that this could be the golden opportunity for Disguised to make amends and get the first win of the tournament. However, after an exciting give-and-take, the teams evened the first half at 6-6.

In the second half, M80 woke up completely and overcame each of Disguised’s defensive approaches to take a comfortable 13-7 victory.

Lotus

Disguised’s map pick, Lotus, had the same tone as Haven, as both teams started with a great level in the first half, which led us to enjoy an excellent score of 7-5 in favor of M80.

However, in the second half, we found an unstoppable M88 in the offensive facet, with Marc-Andre “NiSMO” Tayar (244 ADR, 408 ACS, and 2.11 valuation), who was completely inspired. Ultimately, M80 annihilated Disguised’s defense and won 13-6.

As mentioned above, this defeat eliminates Disguised from the VCL 2023 NA Split 2 and leaves their place in the Challengers League in doubt. Although it is not confirmed yet, the team will likely have to play for their VCL life in the Play-In Relegation from June 4-6, 2023.
