After more than six months of pause in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competitive scene, the Danish organization Ambush Esports, returns with a new international roster for this 2023 season.

As we know, Denmark is one of the cradles of CS:GO at the highest competitive level. Teams like Heroic, Astralis, Copenhagen Flames, and OG have their roots in this country, which has undoubtedly given many of the best players in the history of this esports. Thanks to this, more and more teams are deciding to venture into the CS:GO scene. In addition, in many cases, they have support from large organizations so that these teams serve to develop emerging talent in the country.

However, this is not the case for Ambush, as this new lineup features players like Niels “NaToSaphiX” Sillassen and Miikka “suNny” Kemppi, veterans in the CS:GO competitive scene.

Ambush announces its return to the CS:GO scene with a new roster

Through an official statement on Twitter, Ambush Esports announced its return to the CS:GO competitive scene with a new international roster.

With this announcement, a hiatus of just over six months in which the organization was completely away from the scene ends. Ambush’s lineup is as follows:

  • Mikkel “Maze” Sparvath
  • NaToSaphiX
  • suNny
  • Joonas “doto” Forss
  • Milen “milky” Iliev

Let’s meet the players

Maze will take the reins of the team as IGL from now on. Moreover, the 21-year-old is no stranger to the team, as he was part of the lineup in 2021. He then went through teams like Fnatic Rising and Let Us Cook. Milky will also make his return to the team, as together with Maze, they played in the 2021 season in the Danish organization.

suNnY comes to this lineup with the firm conviction to revive his career as a professional. The experienced 28-year-old Finn has been part of great teams such as ENCE and mousesports (MOUZ) and has a career that started in 2013. However, his terrible performance during his most recent stint at TITANS resulted in the player not getting opportunities at a top team for the 2023 season.

Doto, meanwhile, is another Finn who is a veteran in the competitive CS:GO scene. However, unlike suNnY, the only major team he has represented is ENCE from 2020 to the 2022 season. Then, he played for six months for HAVU Gaming, failing to excel as he would have liked.

Finally, we have NaToSaphiX, a player with a lot of experience in the scene and even became part of Heroic in the 2019 season. In addition, NaToSaphiX returns to an organization after playing two years in different tier 2 and 3 teams, as his last foray was as a replacement for Complexity in 2021.

This Ambush lineup is ambitious, with three experienced players who want to return to their best possible level. Moreover, the players have stated that they are very excited to start this new adventure, considering their teammates very talented.
