The recent launch of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile had fans think about whether or not their devices can run the highly-anticipated mobile battle royale game.

Fragster.com has compiled information we know from the official Activision channels, as well as reputable sources and leakers on social media to give users a clearer perspective on what to expect for the game moving forward.

This article may also be updated periodically for any new information or changes especially when the global release happens on March 21st, so please do refresh this page for any new information.

DEVICE SPECIFICATIONS

First off – many questions have been hounding threads for Warzone Mobile on different Activision social media platforms.

The developers have released some baseline specifications for Android and iOS.

ANDROID: Android Adreno 618 or better. WZM Leakers on Duty have reported that they have run tests on Snapdragon 720s.

“On minimum requirement, MP seems to play decently well. Rebirth Island is playable. Playing Verdansk is not recommended due to thermal throttle and crashes in certain areas. But this should get fixed over time,” WZM Leakers on Duty said in a tweet.

“Also note that game texture will look buggy initially, but this gets fixed as you play more games. This is due to Texture Streaming,” the group adds. “Note that we’ve only tested Snapdragon processors so far. The minimum requirement for Dimensity is estimated, assuming its performance is similar to Snapdragon 720.”

WZM Leakers on Duty also reported that heating issues are ongoing during the limited release. When asked about thermals for devices running the Snapdragon 855, they said, “(The game) definitely heats up. You might have to take frequent breaks to let the device cool down or buy a phone cooler.”

IOS: iOS devices running iOS 16.0 or later with 3GB of RAM are expected to work following the Limited Release.

Devices are not limited to phones, as tablets may also be used to play Warzone Mobile, similar to how Call of Duty Mobile works for tablets as well.

WHAT TO EXPECT BY MARCH 21st

Activision has also told gamers that a “major update” for all limited release regions is expected to hype up the game for its global release.

“We still have one more major update coming before worldwide launch, so keep an eye out for those patch notes. However, we’ll also have many other additional posts coming up with general information about the game, what you can expect at launch, and around various events,” Activision said in a post on Reddit.

They also shared some additional updates in the more-or-less two and a half weeks leading to the global release, citing the same Reddit post:

Verdansk map updates – Of course very possible, but we wanted to launch with the classic version first.

New Modes and Events – Yes! We’ll have plenty of all of that coming every single season alongside new content or changes with the mid-season updates (similar to how the PC/console versions)

Controller Balance – On launch we don’t plan to have different matchmaking, but it’s already something regularly discussed and may happen at the very least for Ranked modes. TBD! But please do share your thoughts on that once we launch.

Anti-Cheat – We’ll share more about this on the road up to WWL.

CROSS-PLATFORM PROGRESSION

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’s battle pass system is connected to those currently having their Modern Warfare III and Warzone accounts. This means, unlocked attachments, skins, and weapons carry over to the mobile game.

That being said, battle pass progression continues throughout the different platforms. Leveling up on Mobile also carries over to your PC component, and vice versa.

Pre-registration for the game also earns users certain rewards.

Upon global release, existing Call of Duty account holders may play Warzone Mobile for free. For first-timers, creation of a new Activision account may be done through the Activision website.

Guest accounts that are being used on the iOS platform, meanwhile, shall be synced before the global release to avoid losing progress built from limited release. This is because, Activision says, guest account data is stored locally on the device and does not automatically transfer to the new worldwide build.

Syncing guest accounts now to users’ Call of Duty account, as well as updating the game and logging in will also help.

“If you do one of those two options your account progress will transfer to the worldwide launch build, but if you do not you are not able to access your account progress from the Limited Release. This is only limited to those playing on Guest Accounts,” Activision says.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be released globally on March 21st, with release times to be updated soon.
