The offseason of League of Legends, specifically in the LCS, is more active than ever, and this time, we return to one of the organizations that wants to renew its staff completely, FlyQuest. And is that according to some reports in recent hours, the organization would have convinced Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau to come out of retirement to play professionally in 2024.

This information may surprise many in the competitive scene, especially FlyQuest fans. Recall that Bwipo retired at the end of 2022 and spent all of 2023 as a Team Liquid Streamer. As a result, the 24-year-old Belgian has almost 1 year without playing an official League of Legends match.

Reports claim Bwipo returns from retirement to play with FlyQuest

According to a report from LEC Wooloo and Sheep Esports web portal, Bwipo will return from retirement to play professionally with FlyQuest in 2024. This is just another report regarding FlyQuest, as all indications are that they will have a total revamp heading into next season.

This move, like many others that have been rumored, is not yet confirmed. However, the organization shared an image on Twitter/X of Bwipo, making us think it may be true.

We all have been following the League of Legends competitive scene for years and know how talented and experienced Bwipo is in the LCS and LEC. Moreover, he has been part of very successful and popular organizations such as Team Liquid and Fnatic.

On the other hand, it is also fair to mention that, thanks to that experience, this 24-year-old player easily adapts to any game situation, being able to play with many champions if his team needs it.

About Bwipo

As we mentioned, the last time Bwipo competed professionally was in 2022, when he played for Team Liquid, and, without a doubt, he was a fundamental piece for the team to dominate the LCS at will. At that time, the team had a spectacular roster consisting of Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in, Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, Lucas “Santorin” Larsen and Steven “Hans Sama” Liv. However, after a disappointing team performance at the end of the season, Bwipo decided to hang up the mouse and keyboard to focus on making streams.

Since he retired from the competitive scene, we have only seen Bwipo as a commentator and analyst on the broadcasting tables of some LCS games. So, this would be the Belgian’s return to the competition after a year of inactivity.

As we mentioned, nothing is confirmed from CF, Team Liquid, or Bwipo. However, the fact that an image of Liquid’s streamer was shared on FlyQuest’s official account makes us think it may be a matter of time before it becomes official.
