As we approach the Christmas holidays, we are also approaching the end of the CS:GO year, but before that happens, there’s one last top-tier event ahead of us! The BLAST Premier World Finals 2022 starts on December 14 in Abu Dhabi.

Only the best teams in the world are participating, so it will surely be a must-see, exciting, and, above all, very intense tournament.

Format

Every year, the best CS:GO teams in the world work their way through top-tier leagues and tournaments to either win receive a direct invite or earn enough points needed to qualify for the season-concluding BLAST Premier World Final.

This year, the tournament will be no different, featuring a Group Stage and Playoffs, as it has always been.

The eight participating teams will be divided into groups of four each and play double-elimination matches. Then, the top three teams in each group will qualify for the playoffs.

Finally, in the last stage of the event, the teams will play the matches in a best-of-three single-elimination format.

In addition to the glory and the champions trophy, the teams will fight for a share of the juicy $1,000,000 prize pool.

Favorite Teams

Here are the eight teams that will be part of this BLAST Premier World Final 2022:

  • Natus Vincere
  • Heroic
  • FaZe Clan
  • Outsiders
  • Team Vitality
  • G2 Esports
  • OG
  • Team Liquid

As we already know, for this tournament, only the teams with the best performance during the season attend. That is why there are no surprises regarding the champion teams such as NaVi, Heroic, and Team Vitality.

However, these teams have not had consistent performance throughout the season. A few days ago, we met the last three qualified teams.

G2 has had a season to forget, especially in the BLAST Fall Finals 2022, but they managed to qualify thanks to their place in the world ranking.

In this event, all teams will be on equal terms, the victories of the year now do not matter, and each squad has a great chance to win.

New faces on the CS:GO scene

As the years go by, different CS:GO teams have formed a core of very talented players that have led them to victory.

OG is one of them, since not only they qualified for the first time to a Major (the IEM Rio Major 2022), but they managed to get the necessary points to place high enough in the ranking and achieve the qualification to this BLAST Premier World Finals 2022.

Team Vitality has changed, but for the worse. After a spectacular season where they won each tournament they participated in, they had a closing to forget, leaving much to be desired in each presentation.

Regardless of who manages to win this event, this year has been one of the best for CS:GO, and it won’t be long before the whole process starts again in the new year at IEM Katowice 2023.
