The Group Stage of the LEC Spring Split 2023 is nearing its end, and we already know the first two teams qualified for the playoffs, Team Vitality and Team BDS. Both teams crushed Astralis and KOI, respectively, to seal their tickets to the next phase of this Split.

Team Vitality managed to reaffirm their status as favorites and, in addition, showed the great level demonstrated in the first two Splits of the 2023 LEC season. On the other hand, Team BDS continue to demonstrate that the regular season has not been a coincidence and that their level of play is higher than ever.

Team Vitality hits the table and qualifies for the playoffs

In the first match of the Winners’ Match, Team Vitality had no trouble in annihilating Astralis to seal their ticket to the tournament playoffs. After being the best team in the Regular Phase, the French team managed to eliminate the bad taste in their mouth obtained in the Winter Split, where they could not advance beyond the group stage.

We can say that Team Vitality is the clear favorite to lift the champions trophy of this Spring Split. Moreover, after the level of play shown so far, the team seems to have no rival. The addition of Elias “Upset” Lipp to the team’s lineup has come like a glove, as there is no doubt that they have performed much better after that. However, there is no other place at the top than Zhou “Bo” Yangbo, who had a spectacular level of play and annihilated Astralis’ Doğukan “113” Balcı countless times.

With this victory, Team Vitality is excited to get the champions trophy, as they are only one best-of-five (BO5) series away from reaching the Spring Split grand final. Now, they must beat the tournament’s revelation, Team BDS, to fight for a place in the MSI.

Team BDS destroys KOI to reaffirm its excellent level

If this had been told to us before the Spring Split started, none of us would have believed it. There is no doubt about that. Team BDS manages to pull off a spectacular surprise by defeating, crushing, and crushing KOI in the Winners’ Match, thus sealing their ticket to the Spring Semifinals.

While it is true that Team BDS had a spectacular performance during the Regular Phase, many thought it would go that far. However, those people were completely wrong, as the team has only one goal this season, to be the LEC Spring Champions.

The Swiss have played a dream Split and managed to beat a KOI that came with a lot of confidence after a victory against G2 Esports. There is no doubt that the main characteristic of this team is team play. Each player did their bit for Team BDS to crush KOI in a completely unthinkable way.

The server’s best player in this series was Ilias “nuc” Bizriken, who had an outstanding performance with Syndra and Cassiopeia. However, the best play of the series came thanks to Juš “Crownie” Marušič, who closed the first game with a spectacular Pentakill with Zeri.

Team BDS will have to show what they are made of against a team as consistent and powerful as Team Vitality in the Spring Split semifinals.
