The group stage of BLAST Premier: World Final went exactly as we expected. The strongest teams in both groups qualified for the playoffs, while the worst teams were eliminated.

In the case of Heroic, the situation was clear from the start. But ENCE were not considered to be a guaranteed victim because Natus Vincere were in a similar situation. What we knew for sure was that either ENCE or Na’Vi would be eliminated. In the end, after a thrilling match between these two teams, Na’Vi won.

For Heroic, nothing worked at this tournament. They lost their first two matches, suffered four consecutive map defeats, and were competitive on a single one of those maps. The score on that map (Ancient) was 16 – 14. This happened against FaZe Clan. On the other map against FaZe, and on the maps against MOUZ the scores 13 – 3, 13 – 3, 13 – 5.

These scores clearly show that Heroic are nowhere near the other competitors and will need to rebuild in 2024. Their current level does not allow them to succeed at this level and they might end up losing their top 10 position before things start to improve again.

Group A results

In group A of BLAST Premier: World Final, Team Vitality obtained relatively easy victories against Natus Vincere (13 – 8, 13 – 6) and Cloud9 (13 – 11, 13 – 8). And what is strange is that in the first match, ZywOo wasn’t even the best player on the server. In the second one, however, he was. His score against C9 was 38 – 21 / 1.43.

Cloud9 and Natus Vincere completed the podium in this group.

Group B results

In group B, FaZe Clan were known to be very strong but G2 were not. In fact, after what happened in CCT Online Finals #5, a tournament in which G2 lost two best-of-three matches against underdogs, a lot of people felt like they were not ready to compete against the likes of FaZe Clan and MOUZ.

But it turns out that G2 are much stronger than we thought. They won the opening match against MOUZ (13 – 10, 13 – 11) and were close to beating FaZe as well (13 – 7, 10 – 13, 13 – 16).

In the first match, m0NESY was phenomenal. In the second match, NiKo took his place and nearly carried his team to an unlikely victory.
