Leading Indonesian esports organization Bigetron Esports has expanded its venture into the Counter-Strike industry. The team will consist of an interesting mix of Southeast Asian and North American players.

Bigetron has decided to begin its Counter-Strike journey by signing one of the most renowned Indonesian players, Hansel “BnTeT” Ferdinand. Ferdinand was the first of the country’s players to make a mark on the international scene.

The Indonesian previously made a name for himself playing for TYLOO and had short stints with Gen.G and EXTREMUM. At one point, he was considered the strongest Asian Counter-Strike player.

Unfortunately, BnTeT has failed to make an international presence since his days with the Chinese organization. He was left playing for Asian teams in small tournaments and failing to qualify for any significant global event.

However, Indonesian investors still believe in BnTeT despite the player pushing 30, as Bigetron built a roster around the 28-year-old. He will be accompanied by his Indonesian brethren, Andre “WasteOfAmmo” Poluakan, who previously played for Myth Avenue Gaming. WasteOfAmmo brought Filipino player Patrick “Derek” Lacson, who also played under the same team.

Though most Asian rosters tend to build rosters with other regional players, Bigetron came into the scene with an exciting approach, importing two players from the United States.

The Indonesian organization flew two former Rocket players, Christopher “aleph” Froden and Matthew “nero” Seymour, who had never played in the Asian scene before. Even in the North American region, the two players achieved minimal results and faltered in numerous online qualifiers.

The current Bigetron roster consists of:

  • Hansel “BnTeT” Ferdinand
  • Andre “WasteOfAmmo” Poluakan
  • Patrick “Derek” Lacson
  • Christopher “aleph” Froden
  • Matthew “nero” Seymour

With this blend of cultures and regions, the Bigetron team can share different ideas and playstyles to hopefully create a combination that will work in their favor.

It wouldn’t be a lie to mention that the Asian Counter-Strike scene is underdeveloped and currently has no chance to pose a threat to international teams. The only team that stood a chance would be The MongolZ, yet they finished 15-16th place at the Copenhagen Major.

The Bigetron Esports team is looking to dominate the regional scene and join the ranks of The MongolZ to help BnTeT return to the upper echelons of Counter-Strike. However, fans are not liking the initial impressions of the roster, as it does not look too strong on paper. Still, we at Fragster hope Bigetron can prove these doubters wrong!
