BetBoom Dacha Dubai is about to start and the two groups have been made public. The 12 participants will face a lot of challenges and they will have to finish in the top four in their group if they want to compete in the playoffs. The bottom two teams are eliminated at the end of the group stage.

Group A looks a bit stronger than group B, but that’s because it only has one underdog. Virtus.pro does not stand a chance in this group against the likes of Gaimin Gladiators, Team Liquid, and Aurora. But who knows? Maybe they can surprise us.

Group A predictions

Here are the six teams that will compete in group A of BetBoom Dacha Dubai:

  • Aurora
  • Gaimin Gladiators
  • LGD Gaming
  • Team Falcons
  • Team Liquid
  • Virtus.pro

Of these six teams, five could easily qualify for the playoffs and at least three of them could win the group. Keep in mind that matches are best-of-two. Each team will play one match against every other team, so a total of five matches in total.

Based on everything we know about the competitors, Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid are almost guaranteed to qualify. They started 2024 with the same rosters they used in 2023, and their results last season were spectacular.

Liquid did change one player, zai, replacing him with 33. Other than that, they’re still the scary team they were in the last several seasons.

Gladiators is the biggest favorite in this group, but we haven’t seen them play since the Grand Final of ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, which took place in December. It’s been six weeks since then and during this time, it’s likely that their strength went up.

Team Falcons will be the most exciting team to watch in this group, primarily because they have very strong individuals but haven’t yet managed to convince us that they can be a cohesive team, capable of beating world-class teams.

Regionally, they’re doing well at the moment. Their only real opponents are PSG Quest and Nigma Galaxy. They’ve been winning qualifiers lately and that’s a very good sign.

LGD Gaming have a world-class captain. After all, y` won The International 2016 and finished 2nd at TI10. At TI12, his team finished 3rd. Overall, he is a very solid player with an excellent understanding of Dota 2. We’ll see what he can do in this tournament.
