After many months of speculation about the possible dates for the official release of Counter-Strike 2, Valve finally provided an update.

There is no doubt that the hype regarding the imminent arrival of CS2 is growing, and all of us in the community are waiting in anticipation of when the game will be released worldwide. However, many of us have already had the privilege of playing the limited test and trying out some of the new mechanics, lighting, sounds, and much more.

After several months in silence, Valve finally gives a hint regarding releasing the long-awaited CS2.

Valve announces that CS2 will be released “soon”

After several months on tenterhooks and, above all, in absolute silence on the part of the developers, Valve has finally given some information regarding the launch of CS2. In one of the latest updates, Valve mentioned on its official blog that CS2 is in its Beta phase and that the release will be “soon.”

As we mentioned, this is the first time Valve has mentioned the possible release date of CS2 since its first announcement last March 22, 2023. Moreover, this information comes out in the official CS2 teaser on the page where Steam’s 20th anniversary is celebrated.

As we can see in the image, Valve mentions that the “year is not over yet,” and they have released very big updates to the Steam client; CS2 is now in its beta phase, and what is most striking is that they mention that the game will be “released soon.” Finally, Valve also mentioned that “over 11,000 titles” can currently be played on the Steam Deck.

Imminent launch of CS2

Now, we really could be in the final hours of life for our beloved CS:GO, as, with this announcement, it’s only a matter of time before Valve launches CS2 worldwide.

It is true that the game still has some bugs, and, above all, the developers have some improvements to make. However, it makes all the sense in the world that Valve decides to release it very “soon” since, last August 31, they released one of the biggest updates of the CS2 beta, including Inferno as a playable map and the new competitive modes (Premier Mode).

On the other hand, in this Premier Mode, we already have all the iconic maps of the game and, above all, those that are part of the official map pool. In addition, one of the new mechanics is that players can ban maps before starting a game in Premier Mode, so Counter-Strike MM will no longer be on a random map.

Finally, there is still no exact date for the release of CS2, but some fans and community members believe it will be before September 23, as this is the date that officially ends the summer. Likewise, some people believe the game will be launched after the ESL Pro League S18, so we can only wait for the official announcement from Valve.
