Summoner’s Rift is ablaze following Riot Games’ release of the new Aurelion Sol game update for League of Legends.

For many mid-laners worldwide, Runeterra’s beloved space dragon has been the month’s new feature. However, due to a bug that can return players to a gray screen if they are playing against a particular champion, it is now the bane of everyone’s existence.

The long-awaited revamp of Aurelion Sol came with some game-breaking bugs. One gives him an unfair advantage, while the other renders one of his abilities useless.

About Aurelion Sol

League of Legends’ Aurelion Sol has long been a niche champion. However, due to how difficult it was to deploy his kit after being nerfed, because of how fast he could launch intermediate waves and rotate, he was doomed to obscurity.  Consequently, its play rate was among the lowest.

The cosmic dragon has strong points, no doubt, but the creators at Riot Games decided to revamp its skill kit instead of striving to balance its current abilities.

Failure in Aurelion Sol

There were some problems with Aurelion Sol in the PBE, but most of them seemed to have been solved before its release. However, when it became available in patch 13.3, new ones appeared.

Numerous players have found a bug that only appears when Mordekaiser sends Aurelion Sol to the Realm of Death after placing his Singularity on the map. As a result, opposing players are likely to receive an early trip back to the store if caught in the Singularity field of effect.

This is because after Aurelion Sol’s E ability has expired, a failure occurs due to Mordekaiser’s Reign of Death. This causes any player affected by the ability to continue taking Singularity burn damage, even if they are not currently active on the battlefield. If the degradation does not disappear, they will slowly die, burned by a phantom ability.

One cannot avoid its effects; it only ends when you accept your fate and let your hero die, and eventually, the burn ends. Generally speaking, players should avoid playing Mordekaiser against Aurelion Sol; or if they do, they should hold off on trying to use his ultimate ability against him right away. The margin for error is too broad, and in a close game, a single mistake can mean the difference between winning and losing.

Riot Games, last week, temporarily disabled Aurelion Sol as a result of problems in the game. It is clear that the developers still need to do a lot of work to stop other issues from arising in the future. Therefore, at this time, the developers have not yet released a fix to correct this bug in Aurelion Sol.
