Atlanta FaZe have announced the signing of the popular assault rifler Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat. The upcoming 2023 Call of Duty League season will see Slasher reunited with the FaZe Clan after seven years.

Atlanta FaZe surprised fans with yet another roster change after letting their star player Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson go in a decision that ultimately proved to be a really poor one. Consequently, the organization has now acquired former Los Angles Guerrillas player SlasheR to its COD roster.

SlasheR made his professional debut in 2014, and over the following years, he quickly established himself as one of the most prominent main ARs in Call of Duty history. With eight major awards and one global championship to his credit, SlasheR has proven himself as a match-winner for numerous illustrious organizations like eUnited and Gen.G Esports.

In addition to his extensive competitive experience and a long list of achievements, SlasheR also appeared in great form during the 2022 CDL League season. While he performed admirably for Los Angeles Guerrillas throughout the season, it was his match-winning display at Call of Duty League 2022: Stage 2 Major that electrified the LA fans and earned the team their first Call of Duty trophy.

With the addition of SlasheR, Atlanta becomes the fourth team after OpTic Texas, LA Guerrillas, and Minnesota RØKKR to lock their roster for the 2023 Call of the Duty League season.

Slasher for Arcitys: A fair trade for both sides?

Atlanta FaZe sacked Arcitys earlier this week in a dramatic move that displeased FaZe supporters who had grown fond of watching the veteran play for the team. However, to fill the significant void left by Arcitys, the organization brought back assault rifler SlasheR to the main roster from LA Guerillas, giving fans another match-winning star to root for.

Despite the general consensus in the CDL community that Atlanta will remain together for the third year in a row, Arcitys revealed his restricted free agency last week. Many were unsure who would come in as a replacement for Arcitys, especially with reports abounding that the move was initially made due to McArthur “Cellium” Jovel’s desire to play main AR.

A few days after, Optic Texas released two of its key players, another report claimed that FaZe sacked Arccitys to make place for Brandon “Dashy” Otel, the standout player of OpTics Texas. OpTic, however, gave the narrative a new turn and swiftly changed their mind about the roster change, opting to keep Dashy through 2023, and leaving Atlanta in a sticky situation.
