Almost two seasons have passed since the end of Fortnite Chapter 3 and the last live event, so of course fans are ready for the next big show.
Fortunately, dataminers seem to have found initial clues in the files relating to some sort of new future live event. It’s not yet clear if the event will happen around this season’s end date of June 9th, or if it’s even real. Fortnite is gearing up to wrap up the fourth chapter of Season 2 on June 9th, and many players are excited to see what the next season will bring.
Next event codenamed “Durian”
According to reputable dataminer ShiinaBR, there appears to be some sort of event Epic is working on, codenamed “Durian.” ShiinaBR has claimed that it will be a typical event with a long downtime afterwards, probably to give the developer time to implement the next season.
Epic seems to be working on a new live event codenamed "Durian" 👀
After the event, the servers are again expected to go under an extended downtime as the "NightNight" (long downtime) tag seems to be related to it.

With a little under a month until the end of Chapter Four, Season Two, it makes sense that files about the new event are now beginning to emerge.
However, there is one interesting fact that has not yet been addressed. “Durian”, the code name, is a tropical fruit that grows in the hot forests of Southeast Asia. It is also called jackfruit or stinky fruit.
Jungle theme in the next season?
However, there is one interesting fact that has not yet been addressed. “Durian”, the code name, is a tropical fruit that grows in the hot forests of Southeast Asia. In previous leaks about the upcoming Fortnite map changes, there have been rumors that there will be a jungle theme and maybe even a volcano. But so far these theories are just speculation based on the files.
Fortnite added new Volcano Ambient sounds (Thunder, Rumble & Earth Move). And they also added back Earthquakes that will probably appear at the end of this season.
Remember that next season is confirmed to have a Jungle/Tropical Biome, so we might see a Volcano too. pic.twitter.com/iLYihtK7wJ

So far, there haven’t been any major signs of anything that could be taken as kick-starting a final event, other than the occasional earthquake in Fortnite. A new update is expected for next Tuesday, May 16th, which may finally provide new information about the map. But it could be that Epic misses another week and we can’t expect the update until April 23rd.
With the Find the Force update, natural events have landed in the game and sometimes the ground shakes, causing cracks to appear. It’s reminiscent of the end of Fortnite Chapter Three, Season One, where there was also an earthquake, which should give players a clue that there are drills under the ground. This then led to the invasion of the Imagined Order in the next season.
We are excited to see what Fortnite will surprise us with next time!
