Ahead of Apex Legends Season 18’s release, developers have released early patch notes, giving more details about the release date, Revenant Reborn, and other features.

With some exciting new content and changes, Apex Legends Season 18: Resurrection is all set to hit the live servers soon. The new season trailer has sparked a buzz among Apex Legends players, who are all eagerly anticipating the new battle pass. As part of the Season 18 battle pass, players will be able to participate in new challenges, reward quests, and epic adventures, as well as unlock exclusive character skins, weapon skins, and emotes.

Changes to the Ranking System:

Moreover, there were issues with player rankings in the previous Ranking system, which many players seemed to find annoying. In a recent blog post, Respawn acknowledged that the new rank system has several drawbacks, such as awarding players with excessive amounts of LP or no advantage at all. As a result, Respawn is implementing significant adjustments to balance the game’s competitiveness, such as adjusting ring damage and timing, improving matchmaking, and adding new guidelines for diamond and higher players.

With the new Season 17 update:

  • There will be a minimum elimination bonus
  • Ladder point (LP) gains per match will be decreased
  • Diamond, Master, and Predator-level ranking games will have higher LP costs and risks
  • The ring size and ring timings will be adjusted
  • Ring damage will be increased
  • The matchmaking will be updated

Revenant Reborn –  New Abilities

Although there is no new Legend coming with Season 18, Revenant is getting a complete rework to become a brand new Legend, “Revenant Reborn.”The revamped Legend will be available to all players for free during Season 18, but before the season is done, players must complete a series of challenges in order to permanently unlock the Legend.

Passive (Assassin’s Instinct): In addition to horizontal movement, Revenant’s passive allows him to detect enemies with less than 40 health within 30 meters. If Revenant brings the enemies down to under 40 health, his entire squad will be able to share the vision.

Tactical (Shadow Pounce): Revenant can dash 20 meters to close the distance between him and his victim, climb a wall for height, or simply change positions while using Shadow Pounce. He can also perform a second dash to cover more distance.

Ultimate (Forged Shadows): With the use of his ultimate ability, Revenant can shield himself from melee, explosives, and gunfire by wrapping himself in a veil of shadows. It normally takes Revenant a while to recharge his Shadows, and the charge will be reset if he gets shot by the enemy. However, if he gets knocked, his shadows will recharge instantly.
