The Philippines honored its best esports talents in the just-concluded Philippine Esports Awards held at the GT Toyota Asian Center Auditorium at the University of the Philippines.
Taking home the majority of the awards is the reigning Mobile Legends: Bang Bang world champions AP Bren, winning five awards overall.
The Hive was named the 2023 Esports Organization of the Year, and team manager Jeff Victoriano was named the 2023 Esports Manager of the Year.
M5 World Championship Finals MVP David “FlapTzy” Canon won the 2023 PH Esports Pro Mobile Athlete of the Year for his stellar performance in the biggest MLBB stage in the world on home soil, while APBR Head Coach Francis “Ducky” Glindro won the 2023 PH Esports Coach of the Year Award.
MLBB veteran and two-time world champion Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, meanwhile, won the 2023 PH Esports Athlete of the Year Award.
The M5 World Championship, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s highest championship held for the first time in Philippine soil, won the 2023 PH Esports Event of the Year.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang also won the 2023 PH Esports Game of the Year, and MOONTON Games Regional PR Manager Keith Medrano won the 2023 PH Esports Positive Influencer of the Year.
Meanwhile, Valorant Game Changers star and Xipto Esports player Alexandria “Alexy” Francisco won the 2023 Esports Breakthrough Athlete of the Year.
Francisco and her other teammates were recognized for being part of the her-story making former Team SMG roster that represented APAC in the Valorant Game Changers Championship in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Valorant talent and producer Mika “MikaFabs” Fabella won the 2023 Esports Desk Host of the Year Award for her work on the Valorant Game Changers Championship in Brazil and other Valorant tournaments in the Philippines and abroad.
This is Fabella’s second consecutive win in the PH game masters, having won the 2022 Esports Journalist of the Year Award as part of One Esports.
This year, the only double winner was in the latter award – as Spin.ph Section Editor Carlos Pineda and All-Star Magazine Senior Editor Mario “Abo” Limos both won the 2023 Esports Journalists of the Year.
Ex-Tier One Entertainment executive Alodia Gosiengfiao-Quimbo and Mineski Global CEO Ronald Robbins were named as lifetime achievement awardees.
