The winter holidays have ended, and over the next few weeks, League of Legends regional leagues worldwide will start up again. As such, the community is ready for the LCS Spring Split 2023 to begin.

In North America, the LCS kicks off on January 26, where ten teams will battle it out in the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. This will mark a new era of the league, with many new players making their debut in the LCS.

Read on to find out the best games of the first week of the LCS 2023 Spring Split.

100 Thieves vs. Cloud9

The perfect way to get League fans excited is with the return of the North American GOAT Doublelift, even if it will be played at an unusual time for some. Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng returns from retirement accompanied by the best in NA — none other than Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg.

With the debut of Milan “Tenacity” Oleksij and Alan “Busio” Cwalina in the LCS, 100 Thieves will remain a must-see team for the rest of the Split. It also helps that they will face one of the strongest teams — Cloud9, who are looking to build on their 2022 success and bring an unchanged line-up into the new season.

These legends meet again, ramping up the excitement for the start of the LCS with a rematch of the 2022 Summer Finals.

FlyQuest vs. Team Liquid

For the first time since their debut in 2017, FlyQuest arrive as contenders for the LCS throne. Thanks to the most promising stars of the LCK starting their journey in the NA region, the team has great potential for success.

This team comprises great players like an AD carry Lee “Prince” Chae-hwan, who won the division’s best player in the summer of 2022. In addition, Lee “VicLa” Dae-kwang was the best rookie of the year in the LCK in 2022. They are joined by Mingyi “Spica” Lu, Jeong “Impact” Eon-young, and Bill “Eyla” Nguyen, some of the best promises of NA Academy.

On the other hand, Liquid will start the year with a new team of superstars. The world champion Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon, along with Park “Summit” Woo-tae and joined forces with Sean “Yeon” Sung and Harry “Haeri” Kang to try to beat the promising FlyQuest squad.

Evil Geniuses vs. Cloud9

When Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki retired, it was considered that Evil Geniuses lost one of their best players. That said, the team has still some of the most talented players in the LCS.

The lineup features the likes of Kacper “Inspired” Słoma and Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme, who are in the top three in their respective roles. In addition, Joseph “Jojopyun” Pyun has a blistering personality. They are joined by veteran stars Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho and Victor “FBI” Huang.

Team Dignitas vs. Counter Logic Gaming

While this matchup may not feature the best lineups of the entire tournament, both teams show a lot of promise for the season.

Dignitas’ signing of two-time LEC champion Irfan “Armut” Tükek, who will be joined by Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen and Lucas “Santorin” Larsen, causing quite a sensation. This team could become a powerhouse, so it will be very interesting to watch their matches.
