A few days ago, news broke that Rocket League Esports and Ally had joined forces with different tournament organizers in NA and Eu to organize two tournaments with a prize pool of $70,000 each.

According to the announcement, these events are named Rising Stars Odyssey (EU) and The Draw (NA). Both tournaments will feature the best Rocket League teams from each region. In addition to having completely different formats, it becomes a “renewal” for the competitive Rocket League circuit.

On top of that, the first event already took place, and there is no doubt that it was really exciting.

The Draw & Rising Stars Odyssey Rocket League series

In this tournament series, we are experiencing a completely different format than we are used to in the Rocket League competitive scene. Let’s remember that the matchups were commonly determined according to the ranking of the teams but were randomly drawn.

This only indicates that we may have matches between two of the best in the first round and, consequently, one would come out very early. However, it is also very likely that teams that are not favorites will come out privileged and reach the definitive instances.

North American Events – The Draw

The following are the “The Draw” events announced by the organizers.

  • April 22-23 – Finished with victory for Gen.G
  • May 13-14 – The Draw II
  • June 10-11 – The Draw III
  • July 15-16 – The Draw IV
  • August 5-6: The Draw V

In The Draw I, we could see how the finalists of the Winter Major, FaZe Clan, fell to Gen.G in the quarterfinals with a score of 3-0. On the other hand, we observed teams like FURIA, Complexity, and SUP, who became the best four in the tournament.

There is no doubt that the fact that more top-level tournaments are being organized is very beneficial for everyone, including the fans who now won’t have to wait for the RLCS qualifiers to arrive to watch their favorite teams.

European Events – Rising Stars Odyssey

As mentioned, Ally and Rocket League Esports also announced that the European region would be included in these $70,000 tournaments, and they will be called Rising Stars Odyssey.

The European event has a different format than the North American one, as best-of-seven playoffs will be played among the 16 teams. However, there is no doubt that this format is very common in the scene, so there is no surprise there.

Here are the “Rising Stars Odyssey” events announced by the organizers.

  • April 22-23 – Odyssey I (Finished with victory for Vitality)
  • June 3-4 – Odyssey II
  • July 1-2 – Odyssey III
  • September 2-3 – Odyssey IV
  • September 16-17 – Odyssey V

This is the golden opportunity for many European teams to start practicing against their direct rivals on the eve of the RLCS Spring Regional. In addition, we also note how Team Vitality won the tournament held last weekend and, most surprisingly, Karmine Corp, the reigning Winter Major champions, exited in the quarterfinals after losing to Monaco Esports 2-4.
