Tier 2 and 3 tournaments in the CS:GO competitive scene are in full swing, and while Valve officially launched CS2 last September 27, these tournaments are still being played in CS:GO.

In this opportunity, the Russian squad, 1WIN, was crowned champions of the CCT East Europe Series 2 after defeating Sprout in the Grand Final with a resounding score of 2-0. This reaffirms the great level of 1WIN at this moment of the season, as the team won the CCT Central Europe Series #7 and the CCT Online Finals #3 in the last two months.

Likewise, the team has not yet been able to play at the highest level, i.e., in Tier 1 tournaments. Now, with the arrival of CS2, everything seems to indicate that we will have an extremely exciting scene with many strong teams in each tournament.

1WIN’s path in the CCT East Europe Series 2

As is common in CCT tournaments, some teams are invited directly to the playoffs, and 1WIN was one of them. As a result, the path of the Russians in the CCT East Europe Series 2 started from the round of 16 of the tournament.

In their first match, 1WIN managed a solid 2-0 victory over Pompa Esports to advance to the quarterfinals. Then, they had a somewhat more complicated task against Preasy, as they had to apply a reverse sweep to take the 2-1 victory and advance to the semifinals.

Finally, the team defeated Aurora 2-0 to secure their place in the CCT East Europe Series 2 Grand Final.

1WIN vs. Sprout – Game Recap

We undoubtedly had an intense series, as the teams went all out for the victory. However, the team of former NaVi IGL, Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov, prevailed to take a solid 2-0 victory to be crowned tournament champions.

It all started on Inferno, Sprout’s map pick, where we had a very intense match from the beginning of the map. In the first half, 1WIN got a tight partial victory by 8-7, thanks to Denis “deko” Zhukov, who showed a great level in his CT Side. Then, at the change of sides, 1WIN won the first 5 rounds to be 13-7 ahead on the scoreboard, but Sprout hit back, winning 3 consecutive rounds to place the score at 10-13. Ultimately, the Russians took the 16-12 victory to start the Grand Final on the right foot.

On the second map, Vertigo, things were much the same as on Inferno, as 1WIN managed to win the first half with a solid 10-5 score. However, this time, the Sprout boys, led by Ukrainian Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov, woke up and put much more pressure on the Russians.

Likewise, the 1WIN defense ultimately won the remaining round to take the 16-12 victory and be crowned CCT East Europe Series 2 champions.
